Chapter 58: The Beginning

A/N: Yes, this is indeed the final chapter of the beginning, but with that said, there will still be an epilogue because that's where I am going to insert the song that I've been telling you guys that I am so excited about.

This is again, another long very long chapter composed of almost 6000 words. So, without further ado. Let's start reading the end of the beginning.

Wedding

As the music started to play, it was Mamie's cue to walk down the aisle. She took a deep breath and exhaled deeply, before walking down the carpeted aisle. While walking towards her spot on the stage, from the corner of her eye, she saw Kathy and Jessica sitting at the 5th row from the stage. Jessica was sitting beside a man, with blonde hair; he was looking straight at her, smirking.

"Bolton?" Her mind queried his presence as she continues to walk down the aisle. "What are you doing here? Where is Sarah?"

She doesn't know what's going on anymore. Sarah's missing, Bolton's here, Zach, Pedro and Amanda are still nowhere in sight and on top of that; her best friend will wed this guy who she doesn't truly love in just a few more minutes. All that she could see right now are mistakes. Lily shouldn't be marrying him; it should've been Sarah who's waiting there at the stage, not Hamish or anyone else. He tricked her so that he could fulfil is selfish desires. Hamish doesn't deserve Lily, but she couldn't do anything as she thought that this wedding could not be stopped anymore. And Mamie hated herself for this, she hated that she wasn't able to do her part well as Lily's best friend; she wished that she could turn back the time and do something about things so that everything won't be as complicated like this.

Now standing in her place at the stage, she watched the line of people who she hardly ever knew walked down the aisle. While they were waiting, Mamie glared at Hamish. She looked at him heavily while she's clenching her fist; she wanted to punch this guy so bad, this manipulative guy who's only concerned about his own happiness.

As everyone finally took their places on the steps of the stage, the music changed into the 'bridal chorus' and everyone stood up as shifted their gazes at the end of the aisle. And at that very moment, Mamie saw her bestfriend standing there with sadness clouding her eyes.

Lily's heart sank as her eyes scanned around the area, Sarah's still nowhere in sight and all the guests were looking at her with a huge smile across their lips.

Her father looked at her concernedly, but Lily's immediate response was to give him a smile as she hooked her arm around his. She took a deep breath and took a step forward, she felt sick as her stomach turned with the thought of marrying Hamish.

As they were walking down the aisle, Lily's father looked at her and whispered, "Lily," as he felt that her daughter's grip tightened around his arm. "Are you sure about this?"

"Are you going to be happy once you're married him? Do you really love that guy?" he questioned softly and concernedly.

Lily didn't respond to her father's question, instead she just closed her eyes and took another step towards the stage. And with every step, memories of all of the times she spent with Sarah flooded her mind, every single word, every single hug, every single kiss-every single detail.
