Group Project: Niki x Sunoo (Enhyphen)

Summary: While working on a group project, Niki doesn't do the work, so Sunoo does all of it and passes out due to exhaustion.

After the teacher assigned partners, Sunoo knew he was doomed. He was partnered with Niki. Him and Niki were friends in the past, yet after a small kiss shared with one another, Niki backed off.

Maybe it was because Sunoo pulled away too quickly, not because he was disgusted, but because he was too in deep.

He wanted to do more, but Sunoo was afraid to make Niki uncomfortable. He didn't want Niki to misunderstand but after that Niki never once bothered to listen to Sunoo.

And overtime, Niki became cold. He no longer talked to Sunoo, walked him home, buy him snacks and drinks at school, or text him.

It was like they went from stranger's, to friends, to lovers, then strangers again.

Feeling Niki sit next to him, Sunoo fiddled anxiously with his fingers until he spoke up. Even though they were probably no longer friends, Sunoo was still going to respect and treat him no differently.

Sunoo refused to let things become awkward because of the past.

"So I was thinking that I'll do the research and you can put together..." Sunoo spoke to only he cut off by Niki.

"Yeah, yeah, just text it to me" Niki spoke coldly, not even bothering to look over at Sunoo as Sunoo nodded nervously.

"Okay I will" Sunoo spoke once more, trying to gain more courage to make this group project work.

To not only help his grade, but to also try and help rekindle what they once had.

"I think we should meet up today to work on it" Sunoo told him, watching as Niki was busy staring out the window as Sunoo watched him put his headphones in.

"I'll text you where we should meet and at what time" Sunoo continued as he watched Niki roll his eyes, and listen to the soft music began to fill his ears as Niki turned his music on full blast.

Sitting at the cafe, Sunoo waited for Niki to arrive to work on the project. Sunoo knew Niki knew about where to meet and at what time, as Sunoo saw that Niki read his messages, but he just didn't bother to respond.

After 30 minutes, Sunoo knew Niki wasn't going to come as he sighed, fighting back the urge to cry out of frustration and hurt. Sunoo took a deep breath as he began to work on the project that was due next week.

The next day at school, Sunoo spotted Niki with his other friends, Sunghoon and Heeseung. Yet what caught Sunoo's attention was the girl Niki had his arm around.

Sunoo looked away as he walked into class, sitting at his desk as he covered his eyes. He felt so worthless and powerless as he calmed himself down, reaching into his backpack as he pulled out the stuff he did from their project.

Feeling Niki sit down next to him, Sunoo looked at him as he gently pushed the papers on Niki's desk.

"This is what I did yesterday. Please read it then do your part" Sunoo whispered, sorta pleading with Niki to help him with this project, as Sunoo knew he couldn't do it alone.

Niki only nodded while putting in his headphones once again, not once looking at the papers as he laid his head down on his desk, closing his eyes as Sunoo once again, worked alone.
