Kept You Waiting: Taehyun x Beomgyu (TXT)

Summary: Taehyun made a promise to meet up with Beomgyu at the park, but what happens if he forgot about his promise?

Beomgyu stood in the park, admiring the colorful leafs on the trees as the cool breeze wrapped him into a bear hug. Shivering slightly, he looked at his watch wondering where his boyfriend, Taehyun, was.

They've been together for two years, but lately they have both been pretty busy with their hectic schedules. Yet, they both picked today to meet up and spend some quality time together.

Minutes passed as Beomgyu stood still, watching other people walk on pass him, hoping that one of them was Taehyun. But none of them were his lover. They were suppose to meet up at 5pm and it was now nearing 5:30pm.

He's probably just stuck in traffic, Beomgyu assumed as he took a deep breath and rubbed his hands together to keep himself warm. Beomgyu cursed himself for not wearing warm enough clothing.

The second they were supposed to meet up, they were gonna head straight to a cafe, so Beomgyu didn't wear as much warm clothing as he normally would.

Looking around, it slowly became darker and colder. The wind blew harshly as he heard the trees rustling around him. Cars drove on by and other couples holding hands walked on by too.

The sky soon became dark as storm clouds covered the sky. Soft, small droplets of rain began to fall from the sky as Beomgyu sighed in annoyance. He didn't think of bringing an umbrella as Taehyun was suppose to be here by now. And Taehyun was driving his car, so they would be out from the rain.

But not for Beomgyu. The rain started to come down hard as he looked at his phone, 6pm. Beomgyu took deep breaths as he tried to remain calm. He tried calling Taehyun multiple times, only for the calls to go straight to voicemail.

Beomgyu's hair and clothes were slowly becoming drenched as he continued to wait. One thing about Beomgyu is that he will never break a promise. He will stand and wait in the park until the crack of dawn, in hopes of Taehyun showing up.

Time kept ticking and ticking as Beomgyu kept waiting. It was getting dark and Beomgyu wasn't too nervous, but he didn't like being alone by himself at night. Looking around he saw a group of guys further away. He know he shouldn't think poorly of other people, but he couldn't help but think of the worse possibilities. Was Taehyun okay? Did he get in a wreck?

Rain kept falling on him as his eyes filled with tears. He slowly let his tears began to fall as he let out choked out sobs. Pulling out his phone he saw that it was now 7:15pm.

He's not coming is he?

Beomgyu hiccuped over his tears and cries while grabbing his bag from off the bench. Walking down the street towards the bus stop, he heard someone calling out his name. Stopping, he turned around and saw Taehyun running towards him with an umbrella.

Even though Beomgyu was hurt, he couldn't help but smile. He really did keep his promise after all. Taehyun caught up to him as he pulled Beomgyu close to him, and shielded the two of them from the rain with his umbrella.

"Oh baby" Taehyun choked out as he pulled Beomgyu into his embrace.

Beomgyu was dripping wet as his teeth chattered, while trembling in Taehyun's arms from the cold.

"You came" Beomgyu whispered while smiling at Taehyun.

Taehyun's eyes were tearing up as he looked Beomgyu up and down. He was soaked and shaking, but still put on a smile for his lover.

"I missed you" Beomgyu starts, "Should we head to the cafe? I bet they're still open" he continues while trying his best to wipe away his tears and put on a cheerful act.

Taehyun's heart hurt little by little, he waited for me this whole time in the pouring rain.

"Baby, I'm sorry" Taehyun whispered while trying to warm Beomgyu up.

Beomgyu gave him another pained smile while giggling softly, "It's okay Taehyun, look I'm fine" he says while giving him a little spin.

Taehyun shakes his head no, "No. I'm taking you home. I don't want you getting sick."

Beomgyu sniffles as he keeps shivering, "But our date."

"Damnit Beomgyu, you're more important than our date" Taehyun spat while taking off his jacket and putting it over Beomgyu's body.

Beomgyu gulped while shutting up quickly as he nodded his head up and down. Taehyun sighs looking at his lover become so intimidated.

"I'm sorry" Taehyun whispered while leaving a soft peck against his lips, "Just let me take care of you please."

Beomgyu nods his head yes while Taehyun takes his shaking hand into his before taking them back to his home.

That night Taehyun treated Beomgyu like a glass doll. Each movement, touch, and gesture was so gentle as if Beomgyu would break. He took a warm bath with Beomgyu while washing his hair and body for him. Afterwards, he made him a warm cup of tea and blow dried his hair.

Taehyun was rather quiet and Beomgyu knew why. Taehyun was feeling major guilt. Beomgyu looked up at Taehyun, who was busy drying his hair.

"You know I'm not mad at you" Beomgyu whispered.

Taehyun sighs, "I know you're not, but I'm mad at myself."

Beomgyu frowns, "Don't be mad..." he goes to say but was cut off.

Taehyun closes his eyes while taking a deep, shaky breath, "No Beomgyu, I-I knew I was running late" he starts, tears slowly filling his eyes.

"But I told myself that you could wait a little bit" he choked out, "I was so fucking stupid to think that. I-I made a promise with you, a-and instead I just toyed w-with it. I-I'm an awful boyfriend."

Beomgyu was caught off guard. He was happy to hear Taehyun tell him the truth, but he did feel a bit hurt by it.

"I-I didn't think it w-would rain on you. M-my rude actions probably c-caused you to get sick. Y-you even cried because of my s-selfishness" Taehyun whispers, tears slowly making their way down his cheeks.

Beomgyu cups Taehyun's cheeks in his hands, "It's okay Taehyun. We have to learn in order for our relationship to grow stronger."

Taehyun nods as he sniffles over his tears, "I'm sorry...I love you."

Beomgyu smiles while nuzzling their noses together, "I love you too."
