(Georges pov)

George cycled as fast as he could, following the route on his phone. Once he got to the house he threw the bike on the drive way as he shoved his hand into his pocket to get out his keys. He put the key in the door and opened it, fearing the worst, he stepped inside and closed the door behind himself.
"Luca!" he shouted through the seemingly empty house.
He walked into the kitchen, nothing. He walked into the living room, nothing. He checked all of the downstairs but he still didnt find any sign of the grey cat. He started walking up the stairs, his anxiety was flying through the roof at this point.
"LUCA!?" he shouted as he checked room after room.
Now there was only one room left, his own. He walked up to the door, put his hand on the door handle. Luca had to be in there. George took a deep breath before pressing the door handle down and opening the door.
He stepped inside and looked around. He ran his hand along the wall next to the door to find the light switch.
When the lights turned on, George was met with a familiar creature laying curled up into a ball in the middle of the bed.
George walked up to the bed and laid down next to him placing a hand on Lucas side to see if he was still breathing.
"Meow?" Luca meowed and streched his front paws.
Luca turned to face George and they embraced and cuddled for a long time.
Luca was alive. The virus didnt seem to get to animals.
(A/N Im not calling George an animal.. hes just got pretty privileges..)
-time skip-
George walked down the stairs, Luca following close behind. They went into the kitchen. George filled up Lucas food and water bowls.
George looked over at the fridge but turned around and went into the living room instead. Turning the tv on, no news, no new live sendings, just old episodes of random shows.
He took his phone out, checking the date. 12th March 2024. He had been in the hospital bed for a week. How did the entire world die as he was peacefully sleeping in a hospital bed?
After a little while Luca came into the living room and hopped up into Georges lap as they watched whatever shows that was on the tv.
