43. Loving Husband... Her Husband??

It has been a couple of days since Yoona noticed him going silent... He still was working around her, taking care of her, and talking to the doctor, but it seemed like he was just functioning on autopilot...

He wasn't eating well, he wasn't sleeping well... He started to look pale... It seemed like he lost a lot of body mass in the past few days... It was like he was just existing, doing his best to keep his head above the water...

Why was he being like that? She couldn't make it... Was he feeling guilty? Because he finally decided to trust her? She didn't know how his relationship with Park Min Jun was after the 2nd hearing...

He was clearly not despising her anymore, making sure she wasn't feeling any pain... They both were starting to get tolerant of each other's existence... Existing with each other breathing in ease without getting tensed that who will blurt something to hurt the other person...

Jong Suk just brought her dinner from the hospital cafeteria... It was a bland vegetable soup with a bowl of boiled rice... Yoona pouted looking at that unappetizing set of the meal... She was craving something spicy so bad for so many days now...

"I can't eat it..." She slid the tray away leaning back in her bed...

Jong Suk who was turning back to turn off the humidifier stopped in his tracks... a little stunned... She was obediently and quietly doing as required all these days without any objection and this was the first one when she was rejecting the food...

"Why?" He mumbled turning back to glance at her...

"I'm feeling nauseous even looking at this food..." She complained resting her back on the pillow...

"Why? Are you running a fever again? Is your stomach hurting?" He dashed to her touching her forehead leaning at her looking at her tenderly with concern...

Yoona's heart skipped a beat... She looked at his leaned face in a haze... She felt like that warm and kind Jong Suk from four years ago was back... Cursing herself in her head she suppressed her urge to extend her hand to touch his face...

"You don't seem to have a temperature..." He muttered straightening up, getting away from her... Yoona felt a void, losing the warmth she had felt a moment ago...

"I want something tasty to eat, something spicy... Something flavorful... I can't take even a bite of these tasteless boiled vegetables..." Gazing away she pursed her lips unhappily...

"But that's the only thing the doctor has allowed to feed you..." He responded scratching his head...

"It's ok... I'm not hungry..." She pushed the table away as she laid down turning to the side and stretching the blanket on her body... She dropped her plan to eat entirely...

Jong Suk sighed looking at her back...

She shouldn't be staying hungry because she will have to fast tomorrow for the tests she had to undergo, as the doctors wanted to make sure that her kidney was improving... And chances were great that she would be discharged soon... She has to eat... But he understood, she had been eating the same thing for the last 10 days, 3 times a day... 

Turning his phone on he stepped out of the hospital room... He remembered Chang Hoo used to order stir-fried vegetables when he was dieting a few months ago and those used to be delicious, a little sweet, and spicy... The way Yoona will like it right now... It's better that she eats rather than stay hungry because of the bland food given by the hospital... He dialed Chang Hoo...

"Hyung?" Chang Hoo as always immediately responded to his call...

"Do you remember that stir-fried vegetable platter you used to order for me when I was dieting?" Pinching the bridge of his nose Jong Suk was saying...
