The next morning Sanemi was shaken awake by Kanae.
"There's someone here to meet you." She informed and left Sanemi to change. After Sanemi deemed himself presentable he went towards Giyuu's study, where he was called.
When he opened the door he saw Giyuu dressed in formal wear. Wearing a suit and his katana hanging by his side. Stand across Giyuu was a face that Sanemi recognised.
"Kumeno!" Sanemi cried in happiness and ran to hug the alpha. The action was returned with much affection. Sanemi broke the hug smiling like an idiot. Giyuu watched the scene unfold, a twinge of guilt at the thought of him stealing this away. He cleared his throat and got the friends' attention.
"Masachika wanted to visit you, he has been allowed to do so. He will sleep in the room across from yours. You can show him around if you like, but only if Sabito is with you." Giyuu said, as he got up from his chair.
"He's a good friend of yours, I can see that. I won't hold you for long. I must depart soon." He informed them, opening the door and beckoning them to go outside. Once outside Giyuu walked towards the mansion's exit.
"Wait!" Sanemi called out. Giyuu stopped walking and turned around.
"Here." Sanemi extended his hand, holding a bracelet made of a stag's antlers.
"What;s this for?" Giyuu asked, gently taking the bracelet from his hand and admiring it's craftsmanship.
Sanemi let out a 'tsk' and continued.
"It's a safety charm, to keep you safe on your journey."
Giyuu looked at the omega. Sanemi was looking at a plant beside Giyuu, too embarrassed to look at the alpha, and there was a faint pink dusting his cheeks.
"I'll keep it." Giyuu said, wearing the bracelet on his left arm. He smirked as Sanemi's blush grew. Sanemi watched Giyuu depart with his soldiers on their horses. His hand absentmindedly holding onto the pendant on his neck. That pendant offered him the utmost comfort when he was scared, and it worked just as well this time.
"A gift from Tomioka?" Masachika asked, eying the pendant and wiggling his eyebrows.
Sanemi's blush grew tenfold as he nodded. He quickly shoved Masachika when the Alpha started teasing him, and dragged the black haired man into his room. He asked Kanae to bring them snacks if she could.
He sat down next to Masachika and put his head on his shoulder. Masachika was like an older brother, caring, strong, and irritating as well. It gave Sanemi a sense of comfort.
"Sooo, how's life at Aqua?"
The question got Sanemi rambling.
"It's beautiful, you won't believe it, Kumeno. The water is blue and the hills are green with grass. Everything smells so fresh and you can't get your eyes off the scenery. The variety of spices and fruits is huge! We've been missing out on sooo much. There's this fruit which looks like a hairy rock, it's called a coconut (Get the reference?)" Sanemi went on and on. He talked about Galbog lake and about how Giyuu gave him the pendant and about Giyuu nearly drowning when he was young.
"Enough about me. How are you doing, how's the tribe, and my family?" Sanemi questioned.
"Ah, I've been lonely without you being there to trouble me." Sanemi smacked the alpha at the back of the head, but Masachika dodged in time.
"The tribe's not doing that well. We've been rationing and food supplies are low. Without you there to command out hunting groups, we can't get decent meat. I've tried to fill in for you, taking care of your family and all, but since I'm an outcast, I just... can't." Kumeno sighed. Sanemi was quick to wrap his arm around the alpha and bring him close. He gently stroked Kumeno's hair then abruptly began to ruffle it.
