Giyuu held his mate up as they walked down the halls to Sanemi's room. The omega was hardly able to stay on his feet and had his face in Giyuu's scent gland trying to calm down. Giyuu could feel the omega shaking like a leaf in the wind and occasionally would hear whimpers from his mate.
"We're here." Giyuu said as he opened the door to Sanemi's room, he helped Sanemi to his bed and went to fill a glass of water.
"G-Giyuu?" Sanemi asked, as if he just snapped out of a daze, the Alpha hummed in response.
"Can you call my family? They said they'll stay for a few weeks and I..." Sanemi trailed off, unsure of what to say. Giyuu nodded and sent a guard to call Sanemi's mother and Genya over and to explain the situation. He gave Sanemi a glass of water and the omega timidly sipped at it. He sighed and placed the cup down and leaned against his mate.
"This shit is fucked up." He said and Giyuu chuckled slightly.
"Thankfully we know who did it." He said and Sanemi bolted upward.
"What?" He asked, utterly perplexed.
"When you were in Kochos' room for treatment I got a message from Sabito. I had informed him about the assault on us while getting you back here. Turns out the arrow was shot by a delinquent, a guy who went mad while he was at sea. That also explains the weird symbol." Giyuu said and Sanemi nodded. It did make sense. He snuggled close to his alpha, purring ever so lightly despite how distressed he felt. Giyuu let out a soft croon and gently scented Sanemi, each basking in the affection of the other. A knock on the door ripped them out of their comforting bubble and Giyuu went to open the door. Sanemi's mother-Shizu- and Genya were at the doorstep, the alpha quickly let them in and Shizu immediately pounced on her son.
"You're okay right? Not too tired?" She didn't dote on him for being attacked, she had come to terms with it. After all, her children were the spawn of a disliked chief, many had tried to target them, it came with the territory. Sanemi smiled at his mother and chuckled.
"Yes Ma', I'm alright." Though the way he said it didn't sound convincing. Anxiety welled up inside of him as dark thoughts ravaged his mind. He knew that during a heat omegas were sensitive, but was it normal for them to have such... horrid thoughts? He glanced at Giyuu and timidly spoke up.
"Giyuu... can you umm... step out for a bit?" He asked and Giyuu nodded. Stepping out the door and locking it behind him. The alpha took a book from a nearby shelf and began reading, not wanting to unintentionally eavesdrop on his mate's conversation.
Inside the room Sanemi hugged his mother, leaning into her warm embrace.
"Ma', I'm scared. This is the second heat that I've had in eleven years... it's overwhelming. I'm normally quick to adapt but... I'm just scared." He confessed and Genya came and sat next to his brother, letting out calming pheromones.
"Are you scared of Tomioka-san?" He asked and Sanemi shook his head.
"No, during my last heat he took care of me. Didn't even mention trying to ease my pain in...another way. But I'm still scared. Not of him, but something else." Sanemi's voice cracked and Genya pulled him closer. Sanemi was so guarded, he built his walls so high that Genya had to beg Sanemi to let him in. He never forgot how he would catch Sanemi crying and try to comfort him and the omega would furiously rub his tears off and tell him that he was okay. Sanemi had stayed strong for everyone in their family, defending his mother and his siblings from his father. He had to be so strong that if a momentary glimpse of weakness was shown, he would crush it down. There were a few times that Sanemi let Genya in, and during those times the younger would see what Sanemi truly was. A person, guarded by walls so high and firm, that if they crumbled, he would crumble with them. Seeing his brother in such a vulnerable state had Genya in a protective mode. He had full trust that Giyuu could take care of his older brother, but he knew something else was bothering the omega. Timidly, he tried what Sanemi would do if one of their siblings were having a hard time.
