Why is my mind unsettled? I keep seeing that creature. As demonic as his form was, he was also beautiful. My heart has been unrested for the past few hours. It beats like the ringing of a bell. I grip it.

"Legolas, are you alright?" Gimli asks me.

"I'm fine." I say.

I hear Gandalf whistling. It sounds like a soft melody but nowhere near as glamorous as the one I heard from that man. I see a white horse running. Lord of all Horses, Shadowfax. I lower my head in respect. Gandalf moves his hands around Shadowfax.

"He's been my friend for some time." Gandalf says.

Gandalf now sits on Shadowfax. He raises his staff.

"We must go quickly." Gandalf says.

I hoist Gimli up. I hoist myself up. I look at Aragorn. He nods at me. I nod at him. We ride with Gandalf. I am so unsettled. My skin is shaking from my own heart. Why can I not stop seeing him? The wind rustles through my hair. I do not feel the shadow of the eye of Sauron. Why?

"Legolas, are you sure you're alright?" Gimli asks.

"I'm surprised by your concern." I say turning to him.

"What? No! I-uh.... just want to make sure your sight is accurate." Gimli says.

"I'm fine." I say.

"We are approaching Rohan, Realm of Horses. Do not expect to find welcome." Gandalf says.

"This place is crumbling from the inside." Aragorn says.
