"I'll take you to the ends of the forest." Treebeard says.
"Wait!" I yell.
Treebeard stops. He looks up at me. We need to play a part in this war. We have to. The ents have to help destroy Isengard. Our friends are all to war and we're not. We have to fight with our friends.
Frodo... Sam... are they even still alive? How do we know if they're not captured. Not killed. Not tortured. I have to keep my head in the game. For Frodo and Sam. But what happens if they fail? Will the world fall into darkness. Will we all be slaves?
"Take us South." I say.
"South? But then you'll go straight to Isengard." Treebeard says.
"Won't Saruman catch us?" Mary asks.
"No. The closer we are to danger the further we are from being harmed. It's the last thing Saruman will expect." I say.
"I don't really follow, but... you two are small." Treebeard says.
He turns and starts walking back.
"I always did prefer going South. Feels much easier." Treebeard says.
"Pipin, no offense to your thinking but... won't we be caught?" Mary asks.
"Not this time." I say.
