We moved slowly through the disgusting lobby of Hawkins Lab.
"Well, this looks really promising." Steve scoffed.
Dustin rolled his eyes. "We're in the lobby."
Nancy looked around. "And...where are we going exactly?"
Jonathan spoke up, using his flashlight to look around. "Right. Like, what is it we're looking for?"
"You've all seen Return of the Jedi, I hope?" Dustin asked.
"Yeah, that's the one with the teddy bears?" Steve questioned.
"Ewoks." Dustin corrected.
"Yeah, it's the best one." Steve nodded.
Nancy frowned. "Is it?"
"No, but everyone loves it." I replied.
"In the film, if you recall, the rebels need to destroy a second Death Star, but it's surrounded by a protective energy shield, which is created by a shield generator." Dustin explained.
"Yeah, cool. Thanks for the summary of a movie we've all seen." Steve rolled his eyes.
"It's an oddly relevant movie, Steve." Dustin argued.
"Dustin, just continue." I rolled my eyes.
"Look, I think this circular flesh wall is Vecna's version of an energy shield, except it's not sci-fi. It's supernatural, created by Vecna's dark magic. And this dark magic shield is what's preventing us from reaching him and saving Holly. But if my math is correct-" Dustin continued.
"The math that gets us into this mess." I nodded.
"...the generator for the shield has to be in this lab." Dustin finished.
Jonathan slowly nodded. "So if we find this dark magic shield generator..."
"We destroy the wall." Dustin smiled.
"Find Vecna, save Holly." Nancy continued.
"Kill Vecna, while we're at it." I added.
"Medals for all." Dustin proudly stated.
"And it looks like what?" Steve squinted his eyes.
"How would you expect me to know that?" Dustin stared back as thunder rumbled loudly.

The five of us made it to a stairwell, one set went up while the other went down.
"Which way?" I spoke up, aiming my flashlight between the stairs.
"I say both. Search in teams of two. Cover more ground." Nancy replied.
"Yeah, that's cool with me, but can we just switch the teams up? How about you two take the little one?" Steve asked Jonathan and Nancy while he spoke about Dustin.
"Seriously? How about you go with them and I'll stay with my sister?" Dustin argued.
"Or maybe...I go with Nancy and the boys stick together?" I suggested.
"Me and Henderson need some space." Steve added.
"Hey, we don't have time for this. Let's keep it simple, stick to the usual teams. Sorry, Thena." Nancy glanced at me. "They're your boys."
I groaned. "Sadly."
Nancy and Jonathan went up, so the boys and I were left to go down.
Steve stared at Dustin. "Awesome." Dustin led the way. "Just awesome."
