Time sure does fly.

Age twenty is a weird one...not as weird as our new life though.

After the 'earthquake' a year and a half ago, part of the town has been blocked off for safety, but we all know the true reason why. The military was everywhere. I've gotten in countless arguments with high ranks for generally pissing me off, but Steve was there to calm me down each time.

Except for the time I quite literally got put in handcuffs...but we'll ignore that for now.

The Byers moved back to Hawkins and live with the Wheelers due to their house not being theirs anymore, but that doesn't matter since everyone's main concern is still on Vecna, who hasn't shown his branch-like face since.

Max still remains in a coma down at the hospital. I go see her as much as I can and talk to her...even when she can't answer back.

Dustin has been torn up since Eddie died. I comfort him the best that I can, but I surely can't do anything about his stupid shirt he wears daily.

After Steve, Robin and I lost another job, we moved down to the radio station, WSQK. Every morning, Robin speaks over the radio for everyone to hear while Steve does background sounds and I watch over all the machines to make sure we stay on signal.

"Good morning, Hawkins! This is WSQK The Squawk!" Robin began and Steve pushed on the rubber chicken. "It's looking like a pretty regular day in Hawkins. Fifty-five degrees, low chance of rain, medium chance of arrest, high chance of helicopters, but general banality aside, it's an exciting day for me, your friend, entertainer and DJ, Robin Buckley. Nice to meet you! AKA Rockin' Robin."

I pushed the record player and said song began to play behind Robin's voice.

"And why is it a big day for me, you ask? Well, it's my five-hundredth broadcast. Yeah, you heard that right, folks. Five-double-O!" Robin continued.

Steve reached over my head to grab the applause sound effect to play.

"Which means it's been even longer since you've heard the sultry voice of Jimmy 'Fast Hands' Lee, but while Jimmy was fleeing Hawkins even faster than he moves those hands..." Robin said as Steve played a screaming sound effect. "...yours truly was watching slack-jawed as the Earth split open beneath her feet and coughed up that tsunami of mysterious dandruff and now, I'm stuck here with you, my fellow quarantine compatriots...and if I can be brutally honest, I couldn't be happier. Because when you really think about it, why would you want to live anywhere else? I mean, what town on Earth can match our very impressive military-to-civilian ratio?"

Steve used a whistle to make a sound while I turned the signal up on the machines. Our hands clashed and a clank was heard as the whistle hit the ring on my left hand.

When Steve promised in the Up-Down forest, as he called it, that he would marry me...he wasn't lying. No, we aren't married yet and yes, Steve said after Vecna was dead is when we would get married.

But he didn't say exactly when he would propose.

He gave me the ring eight months ago when we were on a date. He got down on his knee and told me he was already the luckiest man in the world just by being my boyfriend, but he wanted us to be more.

I said yes before he could even ask me to marry him.

Our friends and families were ecstatic and declared once our town was back to normal, we would have a big wedding to celebrate.

Back to the present, after Steve made sure both my hand and the ring was okay, we went back to our tasks.

"And those free, mandatory medical checkups? I mean, very cool. 'Cause after we inhaled those springtime snowflakes, I mean, who knows what's wrong with us? Maybe we're fine, maybe not." Robin added as a man coughing effect played. "No one really knows for sure. After all, this was a 'natural phenomenon never before seen by man'. A phenomenon now covered up by a giant metal Band-Aid. Quite the eyesore, but hey, great for sledding. Though seriously, kids, stop sledding on the giant steel Band-Aid. You are going to kill yourselves and also, the men with guns...they don't like it. Not one bit. While we're on the subject of things not to do, please steer clear of the Military Access Control Zone, aka the MAC-Z or as I like to call it, the Big Mac. I have no idea what's going on in there, but I have a gut feeling there's a pretty good reason they'd like you to stay away. But hey, the rest of Hawkins is still there for you to enjoy. Someday soon, they're gonna let us out of here." Robin continued.
