I sit on the porch tying the last knot around my final necklace of my shell. On each necklace there is about 7 shells and a simple brown string that connects all of them. I made about 5 necklaces. It's the type of string I would never wear because the second you put it around your neck it is itchy and uncomfortable, but some people like it. I get up holding on to the necklaces.

"Barb Azure I finished, I'm ready to go to the hob." I say walking in the door and looking around.

"Good, can I see them?" Barb Azure asks looking at me smiling. I hand her the necklaces so she can look at them. She looks at the shells examining them and the string and smiles.

"You cleaned the shells right?" She asks smiling softly to make sure I don't interpret her question wrong.

"Yes I did," I say smiling.

"Ok good. Tam Amber is going to go with you to the hob so you don't have to carry everything yourself." Barb Azure says handing Tam Amber some extra goats milk and some berries that we picked. I nod and take my necklaces back from Barb Azure and me and Tam Amber walk out of the house and start walking towards the hob. Most of the time if Tam Amber doesn't have to speak he doesn't. He also doesn't smile at all. I don't know how people don't smile it doesn't make sense to me.

"We have to get tin foil so I don't think you will be able to get a new book this time." Tam Amber says looking at me.

"Ohh....ok," I say a bit disappointed at not being able to get a new book today.

"It's so we can watch Lucy Gray on tv, but we need more tin foil," Tam Amber says. I think he is trying to cheer me up a little so I'm not sad about the book thing.

"Next time, maybe?" I ask looking up at Tam Amber.

"Maybe," Tam Amber says.

"Weirdos," some District 12 kids say to us as we walk by, they are snickering and laughing. I look back and glare at them, wanting them to leave us alone.

"Losers," I say back at them still glaring at the kids.

"Come on Briar Rose let's go they aren't worth our time." Tam Amber says taking my hand with his free hand and leading me towards the hob. I look behind me glaring at the kids for as long as possible until we can't see them anymore and I turn myself around walking beside Tam Amber. We arrive at the hob and walk into it looking around at all the choices

"What do we need?" I ask looking up at Tam Amber.

"We need bread, broth, tin foil, and if we have enough some sort of vegetable." Tam Amber says pulling me along towards where we can get bread.

"How much for a couple loaves of bread?" Tam Amber asks,

"What do you have?" The vendor asks looking at us quizzically.

"We have some milk, berries, and some necklaces made out of shells." Tam Amber says to the vendor expressionless as per usual.

"I would like to see the necklaces." the vendor says looking at us both. I hold up the shell necklaces that I made and show them each to the vendor.

"I'll take a necklace and the berries for 3 loaves of bread," the vendor says and Tam Amber nods and hands the berries to the vendor and I hand one of the necklaces I made to the vendor also. That's when I notice everything is getting too loud all the noises are popping out and it's getting overwhelming. I want to cover my ears but I would be seen as even more of a weirdo by people around here if I cover them.

"Tam Amber, I'm gonna go wait outside, here's the necklaces." I say handing my necklaces over to him,

"Ok stay around, you need to wait for me to come home with you." Tam Amber says looking at me. You can almost see it in his eyes that he is trying to be stern but his expression stays neutral the whole time he says that.
