Today is Silvester. We are bringing in the new year today. At least I get to stay up later than usual today. I mean they don't really know when I go to bed, but Lucy Gray usually does because she helps me fall asleep, but when she doesn't I stay up late reading a book or something like that. Every once in a while I like to spice things up at night. Which is something weird for me to say because I like routine. Staying up late can be fun. Usually I finish a whole book if I stay up late which is nice. I have about 4 more books on my bookshelves to read and then I have finished all of them. I'm not sure after I finish them if they are going to get me another bookshelf or they will take the books from my bookshelf and store them somewhere and put new books on my shelf. I'm not really sure though. I like some of the books on my shelf and I would like to read them again. The book that the Covey sent me for my birthday isn't going anywhere but I keep that book in my side table since it is so important to me. I also keep all the letters from the Covey in there. There are a lot of letters we write each other at least once a week. The last letter I sent I told them me and Lucy Gray will get to visit them twice a year. They seemed excited in the letter that they wrote back but I know they wish we could go back home to stay but Coriolanus is controlling and would never allow that. He's stupid which is actually not a known fact by a lot of people but I know it at least.

Today I have to go to two parties for Silvester. One is hosted by Bea's family and the other one we are hosting. We seem to have a lot of parties which is starting to annoy me because why can't we just spend one holiday in peace and quiet? But no we can't do that because we have to show how rich we are to everyone around us. The Capitol is so stupid sometimes. People just want to show how rich they are to each other. It honestly gets annoying because they are all super rich. I don't get why they don't give some of their wealth to people in the Districts. People here are just greedy I guess. I hate greedy people they are so stuck up about everything

Right now me and Lucy Gray are in the music room practicing. Coriolanus wants us to perform a couple of songs tonight for everyone. We have decided to sing three songs together and each of us will sing a song by ourselves. We practice being in sync with our guitars and we practice the harmonies. It's not really hard and we don't really need practice but Coriolanus wants us to practice so we don't make a fool of ourselves. He's seen the Covey perform before they don't make mistakes when performing and if they do no one notices because no one knows the cues or anything so it's just normal. We stay in the music room for about 30 minutes before Lucy Gray looks up at the clock

"Ok, you should go get ready for The Ring Family's party" Lucy Gray says

I nod and I walk out of the music room and towards my room. Today I wore my inside clothes since I am staying inside until we go to the party and it's not worth putting on a dress that I'm not even going to wear outside today. So I have a white shirt with frill sleeves and purple overalls on. I never owned a pair of overalls at home but Tam Amber had some and they were something I would've worn if we could afford a pair for me.

Hanging up is a very pretty gold dress. That also has white stockings and gold shoes to go along with it. I put on everything and I twirl around a bit. I walk out of my room and into the parlor where I see Lucy Gray sitting down in her fancy clothes for the parties

"Come on let's do your hair" Lucy Gray says leading me back to my room

I sit down at my vanity and Lucy Gray starts to braid my hair. She puts it up and looks at me through the mirror. I smile at her a bit and she looks at the clock in my room

"Ok, it's time to get going" Lucy Gray says

I nod and I walk out of my room down the hallway where I see Coriolanus put on his coat. Caroline walks out of the coat closet with me and Lucy Gray's coats. I am wearing a cream colored coat and white gloves. I put on my coat and gloves and I wait for everyone else to be ready to go. We all walk down to the car together and we drive to the Ring family's house. I watch all the buildings pass by and we get to an apartment building that is kind of what like the Snow apartment building looks like. Except it isn't because our apartment building is the most prestigious in all of the Capitol. You have to be super rich to live there. We walk in and go to the apartment and Coriolanus knocks on the door. The door is opened by what seems is a butler or maid or maybe an avox. I'm not sure. We walk in and take off our jackets and I look around the apartment. It is super nice, it seems almost as big as our apartment. I see Bea walk down the hallway smiling at me. It is already super loud in the apartment with all the guests
