I jolt awake in the middle of the night from a nightmare. I start breathing hard the effects of the nightmare coming over me. I grab Cuppy holding him close to my chest. I look over at Lucy Gray's cot and she isn't there which confuses me a little bit, but nonetheless she was just in The Hunger Games and she is probably having nightmares too. I get up from my cot and I climb down the ladder from the loft and I go to the front porch. I find Lucy Gray on the front step sitting down. I go and sit beside her silently holding Cuppy tight to my chest trying not to cry.

"What are you doing up hon" Lucy Gray asks wrapping an arm around my shoulders and pulling me close to her side

I tense a little at the touch but I relax almost immediately after

"Nightmare" I mutter

"I'm sorry you had a nightmare do you want to talk about it?" She asks

I shake my head no as tears start to come to my eyes

"What about you?" I ask trying to not cry

"I also had a nightmare" Lucy Gray says stroking some hair out of my face

"D-do you want to talk about it?" I ask trying to stop myself Fromm crying

"No" Lucy Gray says

"Maude Ivory hasn't had her nightmare yet" I say quietly

"Maude Ivory has nightmares?" Lucy Gray asks

"Every night since you left at least I think so two of the nights I didn't wake up at all because I was too sick" I say leaning my head on Lucy Gray's shoulder

"You got sick?" Lucy Gray asks worried

"Yeah I was really sick for four days after I got caught out in the rain" I say quietly

"You're ok now?" Lucy Gray asks

"Mhm" I say as tears fall down my cheeks

Lucy Gray wipes the tears from my cheeks and pulls me into a tight hug

"Don't leave again please" I say holding on to her tightly

"I won't" She says as she keeps hugging me

"Promise?" I ask hiding my face on her shoulder

"I promise" Lucy Gray says rubbing circles on my back

"I thought you died that's what everyone told me who isn't in The Covey, Feebee, and Finn" I say crying even harder than I was before

"But I'm not dead, I'm right here holding you" Lucy Gray says as she keeps rubbing my back

I stay silent and I keep hugging her and hiding my face on her shoulder

"I missed this" I say

"I missed it too" Lucy Gray says kissing the top of my head

"I think it's time for the both of us to go to sleep" Lucy Gray says

"I don't want to go back to sleep" I say scared

"I know you don't but sleep is important" Lucy Gray says

"I don't want to" I say again

"Ok how about I make a deal with you if you go to sleep" Lucy Gray says

"Ok" I say

"Tomorrow we can go to the hob and get you a new book and then we can go visit Feebee at the bakery and I can officially meet her and her Dad" Lucy Gray says
