I knock on Coriolanus' door. I wait for him to let me in. I want to talk to him about what he has been putting in my food. It's getting close to National Heroes Day and since Coriolanus' father was in the army he is spending a lot of time helping with the planning of the celebration of the day. We never celebrated that at home because we didn't know about it. It's just a day for propaganda in the Capitol. I mean me and Lucy Gray have to go to it and I am pretty sure Coriolanus is going to make me talk in front of everyone about my hero which will probably be prewritten about him which is annoying. My hero is Lucy Gray and she will always be my hero. She raised me and helped me with literally everything. She is why I am the way I am now. She will always be my hero. If I get a speech I will probably change it so it's about Lucy Gray. Will I get in trouble? Probably. But I don't care, I want Lucy Gray to know that she is my hero. I will have to call her mama in the speech but I think she will know who I am talking about since it is in the Capitol and I only call her mama in public here.

I go to knock on Coriolanus' door again

"Come in" He says

I walk in and close the door behind me, and I stand near the door just in case something goes bad. I stand there for a bit silently

"Is everything ok, Briar Rose?" Coriolanus asks

"I...um have a question for you" I say to Coriolanus

"If it's about the phone I already ordered it and it should be coming soon" Coriolanus says

"Ohh...thank you. But that's not what I am here about" I say to Coriolanus

"Ohh?" Coriolanus says raising one of his eyebrows

"Umm...on Gratefulness Day before we ate I went into the kitchen to see if I could find a cookie for before supper, and I found one of the maids putting something on my food" I say to Coriolanus

He looks at me confused and a bit shocked. I don't think he thought I was going to find out about that

"So what is this?" I ask in a serious voice holding up a vial of the powder that was put on my food

"Oh...it's vitamins" Coriolanus says avoiding eye contact

"I'm not stupid Coriolanus and you are an awful liar. So I am asking again. What. Is. This?" I say looking at Coriolanus expressionless

"Briar Rose I am your father if I don't tell you I don't have to" Coriolanus says standing up from his desk

"You are not my father. You never will be my father, and I am not 8 years old I am 13 and I know I am smart. So I want to know what this is or I will find out myself. I am learning chemistry anyways I could find out what it is" I say to Coriolanus crossing my arms

I can see the anger coming to Coriolanus' face. He is trying to hold it in but he isn't doing very good at it

"I am your father. I took you out of the scum of District 12 and brought you here to the Capitol. You should be thanking me" Coriolanus says

"You will never be my father, and what if I wanted to stay 'in the scum of District 12' what if I liked it there. My whole family is there except for Lucy Gray. The Capitol will never be my home. I want to go home to District 12 to see the Covey" I yell at Coriolanus

"Fine. If you so badly want to know what's in the vial. It's a powder that prevents you from growing or going through puberty" Coriolanus says calmly

My mouth gaps open. I stand there frozen. I can feel everything starting to boil over even more than it already is. How could he do that to me? This is my body I get to choose what I do with it not him. What if I want to grow? What if I don't want to look like an 8 year old for forever? What if I want to go through puberty? What if I want to look more my age so people won't question my age? I can't keep it in anymore and I explode
