I sit on the edge of my bed swinging my legs back and forth thinking about today. Today is the day the doctor comes and sees me. I don't exactly want to see this doctor but I have no choice in weather this doctor sees me or not

"It's time for breakfast, little Snow" Caroline says

I smile a little bit. All the maids and helpers in the house call me Little Snow. It makes me feel special for some reason

"Thanks Caroline, I like the dress you picked out for me today" I say sliding off the edge of my bed

I have a navy blue dress with white flowers all over it, with puff short sleeves with light blue tights and navy blue buckle shoes and a bow that matches my dress

Caroline gives a thankful smile and I walk out to the dining room table and I sit down at my spot next to Lucy Gray. She looks worried her eyebrows are knit together and I'm pretty sure she is trying not to look worried but she is, I can tell. The longer I stay with someone or I know someone the easier it is for me to know their emotions

"Briar Rose, today when the doctor comes act like yourself. Don't use your list of rules just be yourself" Coriolanus says and I look over at him confused

"Why?" I ask him

I always have to use my rules around everyone that is what Lucy Gray says at least

"Because if you act like yourself around the doctor they will know why you are different from everyone" Coriolanus says

I look down at my plate playing with the food on it. For breakfast we are having scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. I know I am different I say it to myself all the time but hearing it from someone else hurt a little bit

"Ok" I say quietly starting to eat the eggs on my plate

"He didn't mean it in a bad way Briar Rose" Lucy Gray says to me

I nod a little bit and put my fork down. I'm not hungry anymore and I would like to just go read in my beanbag until the doctor gets here

"May I be excused" I say looking at Coriolanus and Lucy Gray

"Yes you may" Coriolanus says

I get up and I go to my room getting Cuppy and Flopsy off my bed and sitting in my beanbag with a book. I start reading it while sitting in the beanbag. I like the books here because there are so many books that I haven't read yet and Coriolanus says once I finish all of them I can get more books.

It's only been about two weeks since me and Lucy Gray have arrived at the Capitol and I like some of the things here. Like all the books I get and stuffed animals and warm baths, but what I don't like is that when in public everyone seems to be looking at me. With being Coriolanus' daughter now everyone knows me and I have to talk to a lot more people which is overwhelming and soon Coriolanus says we're going to start going to parties which I hate because they are so loud

I hear a knock on the door and someone walks in with a clipboard and she closes the door behind her with a smile on her face

"Hello I'm Dr. Cooper and you must be Briar Rose" Dr. Cooper says

I nod a little bit and keep reading my book

"What are you reading?" Dr. Cooper asks

"A book about birds" I say still reading my book

"Do you like birds?" Dr. Cooper asks

"I like animals" I say as Bean whimpers at the door

I get up and let Bean into the room and I go back and sit on my beanbag. Bean runs to Dr. Cooper and sniffs her before she comes running to me and jumps in the beanbag with me and gets comfortable and falls asleep
