Everyone had finally decided that I am well enough to go outside again and I know exactly what I am gonna do. I am going to go to the train station and see if any of the trains bring Lucy Gray back today. I decide to bring a jar of berries with me and a book to read and water and of course Cuppy while I am waiting at the train station. I get a crocheted tot bag to put all my stuff in it getting ready to go.

"I'm leaving to go out for the day" I say walking out the door

"Ok be back before the sun goes down" Barb Azure says

"Alrighty" I say walking towards town

The walk wasn't as easy as I remember it being. With just getting over being sick my lungs just aren't used to walking anymore which is annoying because walking is something I like to do to get away from people but not being able to walk for as long isn't going to be good. I take a break about halfway through the walk sitting on a rock and taking a couple of sips of water and sitting there and looking around a little bit making sure no one is around to make fun of me. I sit there for about five minutes before I get back up and start walking towards the train station. It's gonna be loud there because the mines are right near the train which I'm not going to enjoy but I want to wait and see if Lucy Gray comes home.

Once I arrive at the train station I try and find something to sit on so I am not on the ground. I find an empty bucket and I flip if over so I can sit on it. I sit down and put my bag down next to me. Close enough so nobody can steal it from me. I have very important things in my bag that I don't want to get stolen. Cuppy is more important than the food someone can take the food and I wouldn't care but if Cuppy got stolen it would be the end of the world. Not actually the end of the world but the end of the world to me.

I take my book out of my bag and I open it. This time I am reading The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz. Most of the books in our pile are Fairytales or plant and animal books. Since I am really the only one who likes reading they really only get books for me so all of the books that are in the piles near our window in the loft are basically mine.

I start reading and about thirty minutes in the first train of the day comes in. I look up looking at the train there is nothing different about what this train looks like to the other trains that come in to the station everyday. It looks normal. When it comes to a complete stop no one comes out of the train. It must be one of the trains to pick up coal for the capital. The amount of coal that the capital requires District 12 to send is a lot and with what I know about the mines there is not a lot of coal in them. None of The Covey works in the mines we make are income from performing at the hob and performing at weddings or parties and when Billy Taupe was still at home he made us a little extra money teaching Mayfair how to play piano.

I keep reading when I see someone come over to me and I look up at them

"You're Briar right?" The girl asks who looks a bit younger than me with dirty blond hair, brown eyes, and a roundish face 

"It's Briar Rose actually, what's your name?" I ask trying to remember what Lucy Gray said to me about not giving one words to people

"Well Briar Rose, I'm Feebee, may I sit next to you?" She asks

"It's nice to meet you Feebee, yeah sure you can sit next to me" I say marking the page of my book and closing it

"Why are you sitting here?" Feebee asks while getting another empty bucket flipping it over and sitting on it next to me

"I'm waiting to see if my sister comes back from The Hunger Games, what about you?" I ask making eye contact with her trying to follow the social etiquette rules which I hate and don't follow at all at home
