For the past two hours Lucy Gray has been talking bout how I get to go "home" today. The Penthouse is not home and she knows that. District 12 is home and it always will be. The only reason we are still here because both Lucy Gray and Coriolanus have to sign the discharge papers which is stupid. I just want to get out of this place it reminds me of the lab and the hallways. Lucy Gray said Coriolanus got called into work and should be here soon, but what does she mean by soon

"Daddy is going to bring you a pair of clothes to wear today" Lucy Gray says

"Ok" I say just staring at the tv

"It's pretty chilly out now" Lucy Gray says

I know she is trying to create conversation. I haven't been talking a lot. There isn't anything to talk about. I don't want to talk. I just want to lay in bed and stare at the ceiling until everything feels ok

"Cool" I say to Lucy Gray

She sighs and pulls me closer to her side. I can tell she is trying not to get mad at me for not talking. She knows it is my choice when I tell her about everything that happened, but it usually doesn't take me a lot of time to tell her. At most it takes me a day to tell her because speaking about it with someone helps me process everything, but I don't think I want to process this. I just want to block everything out and never remember it again. I will never be the same person I was before I was kidnapped and experimented on. Coriolanus walks in with a bag of things. Lucy Gray smiles and gets up giving Coriolanus a peck on the lips

"Do you want to help her get dressed while I sign the discharge papers?" Coriolanus asks Lucy Gray

"Sure" Lucy Gray says taking the bag from Coriolanus

She takes everything out and lays it on a chair. Why is there so many things to wear? Do I have to meet someone or something? Lucy Gray pulls off my hospital gown and sits me up as much as possible. She pulls a red, white, and black striped checkered dress with a red collar. She puts on white stockings that fit over my legs and my cast, and she puts on a red buckle pair of shoes. She puts a headband in hair that has been brushed out as best as possible. There is also a red coat and hat that go with the dress, but I think she is waiting to put those two things on until Coriolanus comes back. Coriolanus walks back in the room and looks at me

"Look how pretty you look! Caroline picked out the perfect outfit for you today" Coriolanus says

"Thank you" I say to Coriolanus

Lucy Gray lifts me off the bed and I hold on to the side of the bed while Lucy Gray helps me put on my jacket. She buttons up my jacket and she puts my hat on so it looks nice. She sits me in the wheelchair and makes sure I am comfortable

"Briar Rose when we get outside there are going to be a lot of cameras there. Just ignore them and mama will wheel you to the car" Coriolanus says

"Ok" I say as we leave the hospital room

We go down the elevator to the main floor and through the glass doors I can see all the cameras. I put on my fakest smile possible that looks real as we walk out of the hospital. I wave to all the cameras as I get wheeled to the car. Lucy Gray puts me in the back seat and an Avox takes the wheelchair and folds it up and puts it in the back of the car. Coriolanus gets in the front seat since there isn't enough space for all of us in the back of the car. As we drive away from the hospital I feel relieved to get out of there and to finally get clean when I get back to the penthouse. It doesn't take long to get home and before I know it we are pulling up in front of the building. I look at it and even though it only felt like I haven't seen it in two weeks it has actually been a month since I have seen it. An Avox walks out of the front entrance and takes the wheelchair out of the back of the car and puts it back together. Lucy Gray helps me get out of the car and puts me in the wheelchair. They wheel me to the elevator and we go up the 12 floors to the top. When we open the door to the apartment there is a huge welcome home sign and Aunt Tigris, Grandma'am, Ma Plinth, and Pa Plinth are all there with smiles on their faces. I smile back at everyone, but I really don't want to see anyone I just want to take a bath and lay on the couch with my head in Lucy Gray's lap and reading a book
