Skiing

Today is the first day of me skiing. I am a bit nervous but I try not to show it. I just really don't want to injure myself now. We have breakfast in the hotel and then we make our way on the mountain. My skiing teacher is already waiting for us. We start in the lower areas at a small hill. I'm a bit relieved as I see that. Just the feeling of the skis on my feet is pretty weird. Ellie on the other hand doesn't have any problems. She is so safe and comfortable on her skis. I would love to just watch her the entire day.

"Ready?" Tim, my skiing teacher asks me.

"I think so." I nod. Ellie brought me here and will now go on the higher slopes while I'm at my lesson.

"Please don't break your legs, okay?" She says at me with a chuckle.

"I will try." I just say. Ellie gives me a short kiss on the lips as a goodbye. I watch how she makes her way down to the lift and I remain on top of the small hill. I will have to make my first attempt to go down now.

I spent the entire time until noon with slowly trying to find the right feeling on the skis. I learned how to slow down and how to turn. I fell like a million times. I'm sure my body is covered in bruises already. Tim said that I did pretty well but I don't feel like it. I feel like I messed up completely. I just wait for Ellie to come and pick me up. We will go on the other hill together then. I don't really know if I'm ready for that but I want to impress Ellie. I don't want her to think that I'm stupid.

Ellie comes back just as I am finished. She is already smiling as she sees me. I try to look like I know what I'm doing.

"Hello." She slides around the corner and comes next to me. She looks so cool. I find it very attractive how good she is.

"How did she do?" Ellie asks Tim.

"Pretty good for the first time." He says.

"I knew it. Any injuries?" She asks me.

"No. I'm fine." I nod. She doesn't need to know how often I actually fell.

"Good so you're ready for the big slopes?" She is being a bit sarcastic and I give her a short giggle.

"If you want to pick me up from the floor every few seconds then yes." I say.

We say goodbye to Tim and then make our way down to the lift. Just that short way down is already a challenge for me. I manage to do some turns but the main reason why I actually make it down is because the hill is so low. I didn't use this kind of lift before so I get scared again.

"Did you go into this lift with Tim?" Ellie asks.

"No." I just shake my head.

"Okay, don't worry. It's not that hard and I'll help you. Just stand there and the lift will come from behind you. You just have to sit down." She says. It sounds easy when she says it but I'm scared that I will fall.

"Okay." I want to act like I'm totally cool. We stand in the line and I keep looking over at Ellie to see what she is doing. She holds her poles in her hand already as we wait for the lift to come behind us. Out of nervousness and fear I just take Ellies hand so I won't fall. She looks over at me with a smile as I do that. The lift comes behind us and we sit down. As soon as I sit down, I'm relieved. Ellie puts down the restraining bar and we put our skis on it. I let go of her hand again.

"It's okay, honey. You can keep holding my hand." She laughs at me. I roll my eyes at her.

"I just wanted to be sure." I justify.

"I'm proud of you. You are doing amazing considering that it's your first time."

"Will you massage me when we are back in the hotel?" I ask with a cheeky smile.
