Our destiny

Party

Today is Beth's birthday party. It has been an event that I have looked forward to. Technically it's just an evening event but we all know that we will end up sleeping there. It's always the same when Beth throws a party. I love these parties tho. We will bring Henry and James over to my mum for the night. She has been watching them over night before so they should be fine and she loves them. She always takes great care of them so I don't feel bad for bringing them there. They also love to spend time with their grandma.

I come downstairs with Henry after I just dressed him and packed their stuff up. Ellie is in the living room pumping up some milk for the boys.

"Bag is ready." I say as I sit next to her.

"I'm almost done." She says. I place Henry on my knees and keep entertaining him with moving my hands over his head and stroking his belly. He looks at me with this cute baby smile while I do that.

As Ellie is done with the milk, I get James out of the crib and put them both into their car seats. We are ready to go now. We will stop by at my mums house while driving to Beth.

Ellie drives the car and I keep looking to the backseat to check on Henry and James. I hate to drop them off but I know they will be in good hands. We pull up in front of my mums house a bit later.

"Should I go or do you want to come with me?" Ellie asks.

"I'll come. I want to kiss them goodbye." I say and get out of the car. I could never leave without kissing them goodbye.

We take the boys and their bag up and ring at my mums door. She opens with a smile that she always has on when we bring the boys over.

"There are my little babies." She says and leans down to greet Henry and James.

"Hi to you too, mum." I chuckle.

"Do you want to come in?" My mum asks us.

"No, we will drive straight ahead." Ellie says. "We will just quickly say goodbye."

I lean down over Henry and then over James. I give both of them a few kisses and stroke their heads.

"Bye, sweeties. Have fun with grandma and stay calm during the night. Mum and I are going to pick you up tomorrow." I say at them. Ellie also says goodbye to them. I love to watch how sweet she is with them.

"You can always call us if something is wrong." Ellie says at my mum.

"Just relax and have fun. We will be fine here." She casually says.

"Okay. See you tomorrow."

"Bye mum." We leave again and go back to the car. Now we just have a ten minute drive to Beth's house.

We arrive there a bit later. There are already lots of people there and music is playing. Beth opens the door as we ring. She immediately guides us in and we get drinks in our hands before we even said a word.

"Leah! We have a karaoke machine over here. You know what we will do." I hear Steph shouting over at me. Ellie lets out a chuckle at that.

"I would love to see that." She says. I always do karaoke at Arsenal and I know that Ellie loves it if she can watch me. But I will definitely need a few more drinks to do a karaoke performance in front of all these people.

I stand in the living room talking to Caitlin and Katie. We just started our next drink. This party is going great so far.

"You are going to sing, aren't you? I need that." Katie says at me.

"We will see. I need a few more of these." I laugh at my drink.

"Beth will make sure you will be drunk. Don't worry." Caitlin throws in. She is right about that. Everyone leaves this place drunk tonight. That's for sure.
