Ellie and I started with planning the wedding just a bit already. She had practice today and I also had training which is why I come home late. I had afternoon training and I also had physio after that. Ellie is probably already at home which makes me look forward to coming home even more.
I come home as it's already slightly dark outside. I unlock the door and see Ellie on the ground. What is she doing? She is sitting down and her back is leaned against the wall of the hallway, her head in her hands.
"Ellie? What's wrong?" I immediately drop my bag and rush to her side. She isn't crying but her face looks white.
"I will be fine in a few minutes." She quietly says. I don't thinks so.
"What is it? Are you sick?" I really worry about her. I have never seen her like this.
"I'm just a bit dizzy. It's normal. It happens all the time." She says. What does that mean? It happens all the time?
"What? You had that before?"
"But it will go away. Don't worry." She brushes it off.
"Ellie, this is not normal. You are definitely not okay. We'll go to the hospital." I say. I can't keep watching this and I won't let her suffer from this any longer than necessary.
"No, Leah. I don't need to go to the hospital. I will be fine." She says once again. I won't accept that.
"No you won't be fine. I will take you to the hospital right now." I say in a more urgent voice. I don't really want to fight about that.
"You can't force me."
"I just want to help you." I hold my hand out for her. She looks at me with dark and exhausted eyes. I see that she doesn't want to but I won't accept that. She needs a doctor.
"I won't come with you. You are not my mother."
"Then I will call an ambulance. You need medical help." I say and get my phone.
"No. Don't."
"Ellie, please. I don't want to harm you or anything. I'm just worried about you. I love you and I want you to be okay." I try it in a more loving and calm voice.
"Don't say that you love me now." She says and holds her hand at her head.
"But I do. I won't ignore this. How often did this happen already?" I ask. She has been hiding this from me.
"A few times but this is exactly why I didn't tell you about it. You always treat me like a baby."
"I'm not treating you like a baby. I don't want you to pass out. I don't want to see that. A doctor should just check on you. That's all." I say.
"Stop it." She says in a more shaky breath. I don't know what to do. How should I get her to that hospital? I just decide to go for the sweet way. I take off my jacket and sit next to Ellie on the floor. I wrap my arm around her and kiss her head.
"What are you doing?" She asks a bit confused. She slightly moves her head away from me. Not a good sign.
"I'm comforting you."
"I don't need you to comfort me. I'm fine." She says. Seems like this won't work. I move away from her a bit again.
"Okay there are two options now. Either you come to the car with me and I will take you to the hospital or I'm calling an ambulance." I say for the last time. I see her hands shaking.
"You are so annoying, Leah." She says louder.
"I don't care."
"I can't even get up." She mumbles.
