"Give me that." Ellie says at me for the third time now.
"No. You shouldn't lift heavy things." I say and pick up the box to bring it into the car.
"I'm not sick or dead, Leah. I'm just pregnant. I want to help." She says. I get that but she is almost 8 months pregnant. This is too much for her.
"You can pack up our clothes and the rest of the kitchen stuff. I just don't want you to carry the boxes." I say. Ellie still seems to be not happy about it.
"Fine." She hesitantly says.
"Thanks. I will come and help you in a few minutes." I walk past her and give her a small kiss on her cheek. She gets a smile on her face which gives me a better feeling that she isn't mad at me.
I bring the box to the car. We just need to pack up some of the last little things and the we will be in our new house this night. Since the babies will be born in a few weeks it's really time for us to move. Everything is already ready in the new house and especially the baby room looks incredibly cute.
I go back inside and join Ellie in the bedroom to pack up the last of our clothes. She is sitting on the bed and folds some shirts."Look, this shirt was the first one that I stole from you." She says with a cute smile.
"I was wondering where it went for weeks." I laugh as I sit beside her. I wrap my arm around her shoulder and kiss her temple. It feels a bit more emotional than I thought to move out of here.
"I can't believe we leave this house." I say.
"Are you sad?"
"A bit yeah. I have been living here for so long already but I also know that our new house is perfect." I say while smelling at her hair.
"Just think about all the moments we had here." She says. We really had a lot of moments here together.
"In the bedroom? Yeah I remember these moments." I playfully smirk at her.
"You are always so dirty." Ellie lightly slaps my arm with a smile.
"You were also thinking about it." I know she was. Her eyes told me.
"I mean our first cuddles in bed and your proposal." She sighs.
"Which one?" I joke. I like to joke about the situation to forget the pain.
"Leah, that's not funny." Ellie rolls her eyes at me.
"It is a bit." I chuckle.
"To be clear, I meant the second one." She says.
"I hope so." I say. We pack up the clothes and I bring the last boxes to the car. Then it's time to say goodbye to this house. I have been living here for long and this is pretty hard now. I would have loved for our kids to grow up in here but it just isn't possible. Ellie stands at the door and waits for me with a smile on her face. She is about to walk out.
"Wait. I want to kiss you in this house a last time." I say. Ellie bites her lower lip and comes up to me. She leans forward slowly and purses her lips.
"You are so silly." I shake my head at her. She doesn't move anymore and waits for me to kiss her. I lean in and press my lips on hers. This is the last kiss here. I want to enjoy that one. Ellie softly kisses me and pulls back with a dramatic smooch.
"Love you." She says.
"Love you too." I whisper back. Ellie grabs my hand and pulls me with her. We step out of the door and I close it with a sigh. I don't think about it for too long and we just go into the car. We will now drive to our new house. The house where our boys will grow up. I can't wait to play with them in the backyard.
