Today is Valentines day. It's a big day for me. I wasn't that big of a fan of Valentine's day before but this year it will be important. I will propose today. And this time she will say yes. We will go to the swimming pool today and have a Valentine's day dinner in the evening. Then my plan is to play Ellie a song on the Piano. I will play All of my from John Legend. She loves that song and it's also a very romantic song. I know she will love it. This will be perfect. I can't wait for the evening.

As I wake up, I realise that I'm alone in bed. Ellie isn't here. I don't know where she is and I hate it to wake up alone. Maybe she just went to the bathroom. I wait for a moment but she doesn't come back. I hear noises from the living room so I decide to just get up and see what's going on.

I make my way to the kitchen and already smell food. As I come inside, I see Ellie in the kitchen cooking something. There are roses on the table which looks very beautiful. She turns around and looks at me with a surprised face.

"Why are not sleeping? Did I wake you up?" She asks.

"I just woke up. What are you doing?" I ask with a smile.

"Oh no, I wanted to surprise you in bed." She sighs. I should have just stayed in bed. She is so sweet and now I destroyed her plans.

"Should I go back to bed and act surprised?" I joke.

"It's okay. I will surprise you on the couch then." She says. I look at the flowers again and then slowly make my way towards Ellie. I can't hide the smile on my face as I think about her romantic side.

"Are the flowers for me?" I teasingly ask her as I wrap my arm around her waist to pull her towards me. She lays her hand on my cheek and her finger slides over my ear.

"No, they are for the delivery man." She says with a serious face. I doubt her for a moment.

"Really?"

"Of course not, dickhead. They are for you." She laughs at me immediately believing her.

"I was just checking." I try to save it.

"I got you." She says and I playfully roll my eyes at her.

"I hate you." I joke.

"Not a nice thing to say to your girlfriend on Valentine's day." She says with a raised eyebrow. I bite my lower lip and lean in to give her a kiss. As our lips touch, I close my eyes and enjoy this fairytale feeling. Her lips are so soft and her kisses are very gentle. Just like I love it. She immediately kissed me right from the beginning.

"I love you." I whisper at her.

"That's better." She smiles.

"Shut up." I playfully push her back and she laughs.

"Now we're back to the mean Leah."

"What are you making?" I ask as I check the kitchen counter.

"Pancakes and before you ask, yes they are for you." She says with a chuckle.

"You are so cute." I just smile. She really takes this serious. She doesn't know what she will get in return tonight.

"That is what comes from dating an American on Valentine's day." She says. I forgot about that. Valentine's day is a much bigger thing in America so it makes sense that she likes it that much.

"Thank you for doing this." I kiss her cheek and then go over to take a closer look at the flowers. There are also some white and light pink roses in there. It takes me back to our date on the flower market and how she asked me to be her girlfriend. I love how she still remembers that these are my favourite flowers. I sit next to the flowers at the table and look at Ellie in the kitchen. I love this woman so much and I can't wait to call her my fiancée tonight.
