The doorbell rang just around eleven and I escaped the kitchen to get it. Leaving everyone behind I opened the door to Eleanor, she stood slightly surprised to see me.

"I swore this was the incorrect address, who the hell is your boyfriend... Ace Rossi?" I roll my eyes and pull her into the home. She looks to see Pepper ahead and recognizes the dog I've walked a few times on campus.

"Lunden Victoria" She gasps and her eyes widen in realization, and then a smirk grew on her lips, "Oh so you were hot for teacher! I knew it!" I cover her mouth shaking my head.

"Never say that again please" I muttered and her eyes moved from me to the other side of the room. A widespread grin grew on her face as he stepped over.

"See I'm not a clueless soul I knew something had to be going on, can't believe you didn't tell me!" Her eyes moved back to Atlas and he smiled softly at her.

"Eleanor," He says.

"Guess it's Atlas now isn't it?" She teases, "Don't worry, I've been shipping this for so long. I have crazy manifestations for real" My stomach knots as my eyes close, "Come on I'm happy for you!" She reaches out her arms to hand Atlas the jubilee role she brought with her.

"It's a New Year's tradition for me and my family, so from my family to yours," She says to him with a smile. She turned removing her pink wool jacket quickly and revealing her sparkly New Year's dress.

"Aren't you festive?" She glanced down at her dress.

"Oh, this? Yeah, my parents had me in the most bland and respectful clothing all night and it's New Year's Eve!" She brushed past me and headed for the chatter in the kitchen leaving me and Atlas.

"And that's my best friend" I look up at him and something seems to bother him.

"Thought I was your best friend?" He challenged my question and I raised a brow.

"Well you're my best friend and lover, there's a difference. Like Cade is your best friend, but you love me and romantically... unless-"

"Don't even go there Angelo" He warns as a smirk grows on my face. He takes my hand and we head into the kitchen to see Eleanor already in the thick of it with everyone, as if she's known them for years. As a person, she deeply fascinated me.

We stood in the kitchen with empty glasses and a bottle ready to be popped as the TV on the wall showed the countdown. A minute away from midnight and for the first time I was in someone's arms, in his arms.

"Here we go" Cade begins as the new year is twenty seconds away. It was almost weird to think about how fast this year flew by. But now I was in Atlas's arms after months of a forbidden relationship, the new year scared me.

We wouldn't be able to be together on campus and I knew that. It would be as if we were Romeo and Juliet and our fighting parents were the school. But I wasn't going to let that get to me. It would be a better year, I'd be finishing Junior year and onto Senior year. It was to New Beginnings and Endings, but I'd have Atlas with me.

"3, 2, 1!"

"Happy New Year!"  I don't even speak a word before his lips capture mine. I sink into the kiss until there's no air left to breathe, we pull apart for a moment, a mutual smile stretches across our lips and he kisses me again. His fingers gently slide down the sides of my face to my neck.
