"I knew he was a fucking piece of shit."

Two days had passed by and it had felt like eternity. I was getting ready for my date - I mean my job interview - and Riley was sitting on my bed arms crossed, eyes grumpily fixated on the ceiling.

I snorted long and loud.

"But he gave me all those books and shit. I thought we had something in common," Riley groaned, dropping sideways on my duvet.

"Well, I hate to break it to you but I to-"

"You told me so, yeah, yeah," Riley interrupted me annoyed. "I should have known."

I lifted my brows looking in the mirror to check my hair.

"Can we have a movie night after your job interview? I really don't feel well."

I froze. I had a date afterwards.

"Yes, of course," I said turning around. "But I'm going to be home late."

"How long will that interview take?" she asked skeptically.

"An hour, maybe."

She blinked. "What do you do after that?"

"I'm meeting up with Kaven afterwards."

Her eyes popped out of her head and she sat up again. "You're going out on a date with him?"

Was it a date? He didn't label it as a date.

"Yeah, I guess so." I tried my best not to seem clueless if it was a date or not. I'd see.

"Woah," she sighed dramatically. "Even my sister is going out on a date and I am the one sitting at home, being angry over a bum boy."

I saw her through my mirror turning on her stomach, covering her face in her arms.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I furrowed my brows. Even my sister... What the fuck?

"Girl, don't act like you had much going on before you stranded at their house," she hissed at me, raising her head.

"Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Oh okay, who is the one going out tonight then?"

I immediately regretted what I said but Riley just paused for a second then laughed hysterically.

"Next time take me with you. I'm sure your precious boyfriend wouldn't mind me coming. He's moved to Vancouver just recently, hasn't he?"

"Yes, and?"

"Yeah, I know really good hot spots where he can take you. I'm going to be his personal advisor on how to make you happy."

"Forget it, Riley."

"Why?"

"If you want to hang out with us just say so. You don't have to have an occupation in this."

I flattened my collar and got up. Quarter past one p.m.. He should be here any minute.

Wow. My first job interview of this year. Hopefully I was getting this position. I looked down on myself turning around in the mirror again. My navy blue blazer and champagne-colored pants almost blended into one another in color but that would hopefully change when I stepped out in the sun.
