Through the snow's whispered hush,

the wolves' footsteps mark a path of freedom, where the wild spirit roams untamed and true.

"Should we tell grandma about this?"

"Would you feel better if we did?"

"Yes."

Desperately I started nodding, my eyes red and wet from my tears. Just as I had fallen asleep again, I woke up screaming and crying for a second time.

Those crimson-red eyes. I saw them twice this night.

Meanwhile Kaven had turned extremely nervous. He tried to hide it but failed miserably. He couldn't sit still and he pondered to find a solution. But to be able to find one you have to know what the cause is - and we both were clueless.

Our desperation made us contact Anakin and not even he knew what to say on the phone and most of the time went by by silent, tensed moments.

Me? I was scared to fall asleep. Right before I was being captured by these monsters and ripped and shredded to pieces I woke up in cold sweat, scaring Kaven by screaming or gasping. We thought, that maybe the necklace would help but nothing changed. I was still bothered by my own estranged mind.

Guess, this necklace only helps in the physical world and not on imagination.

"Can you bring grandma over? I'll talk to Nathan as well. Maybe he knows what's up." Kaven hung up the phone taking a seat right next to me on the bed. "We're going to find a solution," he promised. "Grandma is going to find out what's wrong."

"I have to go to work tomorrow," I protested, my eyes falling shut. As if I was able to go in this condition.

Kaven gently run his fingers along my temple. „You're not going anywhere."

A bowl with cold water and a wash cloth was placed on the night stand next to my head. Kaven dipping it in and wringing it out just to wipe my forehead and neck with it. That sensation felt kind of calming, but the burn of this fear inside me still remained somehow.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled.

"What for?"

"That I am worrying you."

Kaven shook his head. "You're being ridiculous right now."

The wash cloth found its place in the bowl again. I watched Kaven look around concentrated before his eyes fixated on me. "Would you like to take a cooling bath? Maybe your fever will go down by that."

I blinked at him in disbelief. Is he serious?

My reaction or lack thereof must have startled him because he suddenly jumped from his seat on the mattress. "I mean, like cooling your feet and hands. That would be easier if you sat in the tub."

I don't know if I had imagined things or if the light just shone from an unfavorable ankle but I think I saw Kaven blush.

I smiled tiredly. "Can you carry me to the tub? I feel really worn out."
