I screamed.
So loud and so long until I couldn't any more. Until my throat dried out and my cords ripped. The stinging in my own ears stymieing me from thinking straight.
My self-inflicted pain numbed me. And this worry cut me alive.
Kaven was nowhere to be found and I wouldn't even see him if he was. Because now a firm hand was grabbing me and covered my mouth, while another circled my waist, lifting me jerkily from the cold marble ground. I desperately fought back with everything I had, biting and throwing fists at whatever came in my way but I missed miserably way too many times.
As the coincidence had ordered it or whatever god-given blessing I had, my aimless hands found grip on an item that came close to my reach. I slammed it against his face with full force, when this stranger grunted in pain and dropped me on the floor. With my newfound freedom I hastily crawled away, panting like the dogs I was surrounded by. But I was still lost. I couldn't see shit.
Where the hell was Kaven?
This question was so acutely present in my mind that I wanted to ugly-cry in frustration. I became aware of the growls and moans above my head which was so close to the ground that I felt my breath pour back against my skin. So I perked up. Listening. There were no sudden movements. Only loud male grunts and the dogs heavy rattling lungs.
They seemed to be distracted and I had to use this to my advantage when I suddenly froze in place.
"I can smell him on you."
This voice.
My eyes almost popped out of my head and I started screaming again when I felt a rough grip on me. This time my hair was being pulled upward with a ruthless drag. My arms and hands had developed their own mind because both of them shot up to cling on whatever was ripping at my hair.
Then my whole light body was being hauled across the floor again.
The necklace. They were after the necklace. If I didn't make use of it, they'd steal it.
The pain in my scalp burned the last senses out of me and the fever I had didn't help either so I pressed my eyes shut, in hopes that this would help. But nothing happened.
KAVEN...!
Not sure if this was a side-effect of my body being assaulted but now my stomach protested by sending up caustic liquid to my throat. The taste spread on my tongue and I contorted my face even more with that.
I was close to loosing consciousness. And I had no idea how to escape from this situation.
No information on who this was, where Kaven had gone and this hotel room still being quite strange.
But I had no time for pondering now.
My nails furiously dug into this monsters hands once again. I felt the soft skin tissue yield, digging them deeper and deeper. In high anticipation I waited for a cry in pain that should come any second.
But instead I felt a hard, hair-ripping yank that made my vision go blurry.
All of a sudden this dangerous place began turning light blue and pink. While the gnawing fear that had been eating me alive subsided.
