Chapter 33: Encouragement

Law's POV

As the months passed, the more proud I felt for Y/n, she was practically glowing with happiness. I bet I was, too.

But a feeling of regret in the back of my head kept me up at night. My crew. It's been several months since I've been brought to this world, and I was getting comfortable. While I don't even know if the rest of my crew is still alive.

I missed them. They were the only family I had till I met Y/n. And I was grateful that I was not alone in this world and Bepo was here with me. But I missed the simplicity of waking up underwater looking for a new adventure to get the One Piece.

Small arms wrap around my waist. "What's up, Law? Are you feeling okay?" Y/n had a worried look on her face. Guess I had to suck in my pain for a little longer.

"It's nothing, Y/n. I'm just thinking." I place my hand softly on top of her head in a reassuring way as she looks up at me

"It's just... you looked troubled by something. But if you say it's nothing, then I'll believe you." She then places both her hands on my cheeks, squishing them together. "BUT just because I believe doesn't mean I don't know something's wrong. So when you feel the need... confide in me Law. Okay?"

"I will. Thanks for understanding, Y/n" I slightly mumble as Y/n still has my cheeks in her palms

She smiles and turns to her right to a slightly ajar door. "Bepo, now !"

I hear a click and see a flash. Damn it, he's loving that damn camera. Y/n laughs as she then abandons my cheeks to try and see the picture that was just taken.

As the day flew by the trio found themselves in a whirlwind of fits of laughter and fun chases around the house as Law chased down Y/n and Bepo for the candid pictures of him being lovey-dovey to

There were more moments of Y/n teasing Law that he's become a big softie, but as Law grumbles at the thought, he knows she was the only person who could make him like this

They were both on top of the world, and happiness in this household was present almost bursting with it.

But with highs, there must be lows.

Y/n's POV

It's been 2 wonderful weeks of working at the hospital as a clerk. A healthy work-life with good co-workers, a new friend at work, a loving boyfriend, and a best friend waiting at home.

It honestly felt too good to be true sometimes. I couldn't shake off the feeling that with the weeks that had flown by, there was something I was neglecting...

As I stare off in a haze of my thoughts of what I could be forgetting, a pair of tattooed hands squirm around my waist, clasping at my abdomen.

"Is there something wrong, Y/n? You're spacing out." I look back to Law and pat his cheek.

"I'm good. I just felt off, like I was missing something." I face away again tending to the food I was preparing for our meal as Law just hums in agreement.

In some ways, Law has been my stability through the insanity of him showing up in my backyard. I can't say I'm all too grateful for our first encounter, but I am grateful for how he's changed my life for the better.

Law's hands gently squeeze my waist, his touch grounding me in the present moment. "You're not missing anything, Y/n. We have each other, and that's all that matters. Sometimes it's natural to feel a bit overwhelmed by happiness."

I smile, the warmth of his words washing over me. He's right. I have a loving partner, a supportive friend in Bepo, and a job that brings me fulfillment. What more could I ask for?

As I continue preparing our meal, I hear the familiar sound of Bepo's camera clicking away. Turning around, I find him capturing candid moments of Law and me, his furry face beaming with joy. Bepo has become an integral part of our little family, capturing our memories and bringing a sense of lightheartedness to our lives.

"Smile, you two lovebirds!" Bepo exclaims, his camera capturing the genuine happiness radiating from us.

Law wraps his arms around me, pulling me close. "Let's cherish these moments, Y/n. Life has a way of flying by, and I want to capture every precious memory with you."

I lean into Law's embrace, feeling the love and warmth enveloping me. At that moment, I realized that I am exactly where I'm meant to be—with Law and Bepo, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and beautiful memories.

It's been a year since that fateful encounter in my backyard, a whole year since I helped a wounded Law since I left my awful job, since I found my best friend Bepo, since Law and I became a couple. So much has changed. Law and I have grown even closer, our love deepening with every passing day. We've gambled on love and even on two lottery tickets in this past year, winning us each a million to fix up the house more. Bepo continues to be our faithful companion, capturing our cherished moments with his camera.

We've created a home filled with laughter, love, and a sense of belonging. Life is far from perfect, but together, we've learned to navigate its ups and downs. We've built a foundation of trust, support, and unwavering love.

As I look around our cozy living room, I can't help but feel a sense of contentment.
