Chapter 6: Bumping Into A Familiar Face

Y/n's POV

Law and I walked side by side as he pushed a shopping cart around the market. Getting glances from other women, I knew they were looking at the hottie to my side.

He was wearing the black button-up that I just got him, and yeah, I know he looks stunning. I dressed him. Duh.

I grabbed a few toothbrushes and other toiletries till I saw him looking at a polar bear plushie. I giggled at how he just kept glancing at it but didn't want to say anything till I walked behind him to scare him, grabbing his waist.

"You want a mini Bepo?"

He jumped a little but calmed down when he heard my voice.

"Yeah, I kinda want it." He says, scratching the tip of his nose

"Put it in the cart then Law." I say with a sweet smile

You hear the gosip around you. Some of the girls gawking at Law. Saying that a handsome man like that needs a better-looking woman at his side. When I looked down, i felt a hand at my back. Law was comforting me.

"Just ignore them, we're still looking for some other stuff, right?" As he rubbed circles on your back

You just smiled at him. "Yeah, only a few things left. A phone, pajamas, and a bit more food."

He smiled back as he offered you his arm. "Just so I don't lose you here."

You held his bicep and continued to walk around, pointing at things he or Bepo might want.

Until you tripped on something and fell backward landing on your butt. I bumped into someone. Someone I didn't expect to see since he left 3 months ago.

My eyes widened to see. I bumped into my ex fiance... Morgan. He had his arm wrapped around a blonde woman with a small waist, and it looked like a lot of lip filler.

He scoffed at you. "Oh, I didn't know you went outside Y/n. It's still day, you know. You might burn from the sunlight."

Prick

Law went up to you, a small smile on his face, holding out his hand for you so you could get up. You hold both hands as he pulls you up.

"You found someone who's better than that Trafalgar Law cartoon you're so obsessed with now. Y/n?" Your ex said with an evil smile. A taunting one.

I didn't even get a chance to reply when Law instead answered for me.

"She found the real one." He said as he looked at me, staring at my eyes

"Yeah, whatever, man, think what you want, but that woman never shut up about a fictional character that isn't even real."

I rolled my eyes at this idot that didn't know he was speaking to the real Trafalgar Law while Law only smirked deviously.

"That's why she IS with me right now," he replies. This only confuses the idiot ex more

I tug on Law's shirt slightly. "Let's just go."

I instead push the cart as Law now bumps my ex to the ground the same way he did to me. I won't lie. That was pretty hot defending me, and all this would be great to tease him with.

We grabbed the other things we needed and checked out, putting the piles and piles of bags inside my car.

Once we both got in the car, Law turns to me.

"Who the hell was that rude guy earlier anyway? He had some shit to say, and he was really ticking me off." Law says as he still has a softer expression on his face.

"Ah, well, he was my ex... my ex fiance. We were supposed to get married next year... that was till he cheated and left me 3 months ago."

"Tch, and he has the gall to talk shit about YOU? He's the one who's the asshole here.

I pat Law's shoulder. "It's in the past now. And at least I got that house, right?" I smile at him

"Is that why you live in that big house on your own?"

"Well, yeah. We were going to have his family live with us for a little bit till we could have started our own family. Honestly, I'm glad he cheated. I don't have to live with his nosey parents."

Law laughs as I just smile. It was better this way, anyway. Now I had the chance to meet Law. To experience being someone he can lean on. Even just for a little bit till we figure out a way for him to go back.

I know this isn't forever, but damn do I wish it was. This has been the most fun I've had in forever. Might as well live in the moment instead of dreading the future.

No One's POV

Y/n and Law drive down the streets of the quiet area Y/n lives at sun setting beautiful sights.

Law looks over to the driving woman. This day was going to be memorable for him. Especially since he saw such a genuine woman who took the time to care for him and his crew member.

Slowly, he started carrying for her, too. Unknowingly, he is willing to defend her to protect her. Like how she's been protecting him and Bepo.

In his eyes, he was repaying the favor, but was that really it? Or was there something deeper? Something that was brewing deep in his heart...

On the other hand, Y/n saw everything she's done as normal human decency. Something anyone would do if they saw their favorite actor or favorite content creator. She saw this in the same light. Basically, it helps out of adoration. The comfort that Law gave was just a bonus for her.

She knew she loved Law's character in One Piece, so she knew she'd love him now. But she had to keep herself in check. This isn't some sappy romance. He will and could just disappear as quickly as he came.

She clutched the steering wheel tight in the thought of being alone once again. No one at her side. And an empty, quiet home once again.

She was starting to fear the enviable. But that's her destiny... right?
