"Oppa, why do you.......hate me?" Eui asked sipping on her coffee.
Jin and Eui were sitting on the rooftop in the evening. No one was present here since it was only meant for the CEO which was Jin. He started this company under the Kims after he was scammed by the previous company he worked under. He did sue his previous company getting millions himself from it. But right now, the same silence they had when Eui was treating him a couple of months ago had returned.
But rather than spending time happily so she could gain his love, Eui asked him a question that made the situation negative.
Jin remained silent without answering for a couple of minutes. He didn't know how to answer it. But strangely, he didn't mind telling her about his feelings.
"Let's go," Eui smiled getting up since she didn't get an answer, at least she didn't want to drag the silence more.
"I did hate you," Jin said stopping her. She looked back slowly sitting down and turning towards him.
"I thought you were a burden, another responsibility, and another weakness," He turned towards her, his eyes shining with innocence.
"My mother died when I was eight, Yoongi was seven and Namjoon was six. They don't remember her well because they were very young but I do and those were some of the most loving yet haunting memories," He said, gazing towards the sun setting in the sky casting its wonderful shades of light. Eui looked down knowing how much it hurts to lose a parent, he must have gone through a lot.
"She died because of me," He said, his eyes glistening with tears that were begging to fall.
"She sacrificed herself protecting me when we were attacked. I hated her for being so selfless. I hated any woman who looked like her, I couldn't get past the guilt and the hurt that I was a weakness to her. But I understood later that the reason was simply because she was a mother. A mother protects her child even if it means sacrificing herself. I didn't want that to happen again," He whispered that last part.
"I decided not to have any weakness after that. I couldn't even be myself in front of my brothers, and dating? I could only imagine. Whenever I started opening up to my brothers, those emotions would haunt me, I-I was so scared I would lose them," Jin's voice cracked as he wiped his tears smiling.
"I didn't want to get close to you because I didn't want to experience the same pain again," he smiled looking at her, his palm reaching up and holding her face gently.
He smiled at her, but it was one of the most painful things she had ever seen.
Tears dropped from her eyes as she saw how hurt he was under all the harsh emotions he showed them. How much he was scared of his thoughts and emotions. He took a deep breath calming himself down and returning to his emotionless face.
"Let's go," He was about to stand up but Eui threw her arms around him, burying her face in his shoulders.
"Oppa, you're so brave you know that? You stood with your brothers protecting them even though your emotions terrify you," Eui cried out, tightening her hug.
"What?" Jin asked slightly confused.
"You think I wouldn't put the dots together? That day when I was treating your wound, I realized you saved Jungkook from another attack by directing the strike of the fighter with your palm, that's why other oppas were scolding him telling him he wasn't patient enough," Eui said leaning back from the hug.
"Oppa, you don't need to be scared anymore, I'm there, your brothers are there with you now. We will never leave you and even if we try I know very well you won't let us go. You are our older brother whom we all lean on oppa, but for once, please lean on us too, just because you're older doesn't mean you have to keep all the problems to yourself, we are a family, and we should share our problems and pain like how we share our happiness," Eui wiped the tears from Jin's face before continuing.
