Eui had to read to keep up with her unattended classes but Jin's order had made her do nothing about that matter. She was exhausted after cleaning just the living room. It took her two hours! And it was already three in the morning! A man came out from the storeroom looking at the girl sprawled on the couch like an octopus with a gentle smile. He recognized it was the new daughter of the house.
"Who are you?" Eui asked sitting up after sensing someone's presence. He bowed before answering. He looked like he was in his forties.
"I'm Lee Sung-min, I've been working for your father for years looking after the house," He smiled kindly.
"Oh, sit down please, you're older than me," Eui scratched the back of her neck awkwardly as he bowed again and sat down.
"You don't have to worry about the chores miss, our night shift workers have come back, you can go and rest," Sungmin said to which she sighed in relief.
"Couldn't you have sent them earlier?" Eui groaned, her stomach grumbling the next second.
"I was on leave for a few weeks, seems like the house has turned into a mess when I wasn't here. Anyways, I'll ask the chefs to prepare some food, do you have any requests Ms Eui?" He asked after chuckling at her embarrassed smile.
"Don't address me like that please, anyways I would like some ramen," Eui said. Seungmin got up and left. But Eui went behind him, curious as to what he would do, but mainly wanting to talk to him about her brothers.
"Ajeossi How do you even deal with them?" Eui asked skipping behind the elder.
"If I'm being honest, they never troubled me much, they are very messy with their things lying around everywhere but they never provoked any chaos towards the staff," Seungmin said with his hands held behind him. Eui looked at him with an eyebrow raised, not believing his words.
"Miss, you haven't seen what they truly are, or what they are capable of, you are lucky to even get close to two of them," He smiled before reaching the kitchen staff who were wearing their aprons and getting ready. They instantly bowed at Eui who bowed back not to seem rude.
"Wait," She said, stopping Seungmin.
"How do you know I'm close with two of them?" She asked, squinting her eyes at him.
"My staff just don't clean and cook around miss, I get to know all the basic details of the house," Seungmin laughed.
"Isn't that stalking?" Eui asked with wide eyes. All the staff were listening in on them this whole time?!
"Miss, please don't think that way, you can't block the sounds that reach your ears but we do have our set boundaries. We just ensure the safety of the family and whoever comes into the mansion while knowing who is the important person we need to save in case of any undesirable situations," Seungmin states.
"You mean you would first save me before a friend I brought home?" Eui asks.
"Precisely, we have highly trained individuals who have mastered the art of fighting," Seungmin motions to the chefs beside him who bow again.
...
It's been two days since the boys disappeared that night. The house was surprisingly lonely for Eui so she would spend the whole day outside in college or roaming around. She sighed sitting down on the couch and starting a conversation with Seungmin who was going through the newspaper.
"Could you add Gaeun as a friend to the guest list?" Eui asked. The mansion had a guest list with many people's names. Only they were allowed to enter the house, other's were prohibited from entering.
