-Chapter Thirty Five- She happens to always be in your mind and heart!
"He is an asshole, but my asshole," Kenzie muttered to herself as she drove into the basement parking. A whole month being mad at him had been fun.
But now that Jungkook wasn't even having proper meals due to his workload, she felt she should at least bring him lunch to his office. She was planning to surprise him with lunch.
After parking her car next to his, just like she always did before their marriage, she grabbed the paper bag containing the food she had picked up from his favorite restaurant—the one they had dined at months ago.
Last time, Jungkook had chosen the meal; this time, Kenzie had made the decision herself.
Taking a deep breath, Kenzie walked towards the elevator, reaching the floor where her husband's office was.
"Where's Yoongi?" Kenzie asked the receptionist as she approached the front desk.
"Umm... Mr. Min has gone with the team for a marketing meeting on the tenth floor, he might be back in ten minutes," the receptionist replied, eyeing Kenzie from head to toe.
"Is Jungkook— I mean Mr. Jeon— in his office?" Kenzie asked.
"Yes, Mr. Jeon is in his office, but..."
Before the receptionist could finish her sentence, Kenzie started making her way toward the office that belonged to her husband.
"Ma'am!" the receptionist exclaimed.
As Kenzie approached the door, the receptionist suddenly appeared, blocking her way.
"What?" Kenzie raised an eyebrow, puzzled.
"Mr. Jeon is busy in a meeting with his assistant. He gave special instructions that no one disturb him, no matter who it is," the receptionist explained, her voice laced with concern.
Kenzie smiled softly, pushing the receptionist aside to clear her path. "I am not just someone; I am his wife."
She raised her left hand, showcasing her enormous engagement ring and wedding band, "This ring didn't pay for itself. Now, if you'll let me in."
"But ma'am, please, my job will be at risk," the receptionist pleaded.
Ignoring her warnings, Kenzie pushed the door open without knocking. The smile on her lips instantly vanished when she saw Sarah nearly perched on Jungkook's lap.
"Would you like it if I kissed you right now, Jungkook?"
Sarah's voice dripped with a sickly sweetness that felt like poison in Kenzie's ears as she watched her cup her husband's jaw.
