-Chapter Forty-
The most powerful diamond merchants.

"Undressing you, Caramel," Jungkook drawled, his voice thick with playful heat, a wicked smirk curving his lips.

Kenzie froze. "What do you mean by that?" she exclaimed, heart racing, her cheeks blooming with a deep flush.

Jungkook stepped closer, eyes dark with something sinful. He leaned down, his breath fanning her neck as he murmured, "Relax, sweetheart. I'm just helping you slip into something a little more... comfortable. You need rest, and this dress?" His fingers grazed the thin strap.

"This isn't doing it for me."

Kenzie's breath hitched, her skin tingling where he touched. "I'm... fine in this," she whispered, but her voice lacked conviction.

"Oh really?" he arched a brow, his voice like velvet.

"Because it smells like hospital. And I know you, babe. That scent makes your nose twitch." His smirk deepened.

"Don't forget—I've been watching you."

"Not creepy at all," she rolled her eyes.

Jungkook chuckled, undeterred. "I made sure they discharged you fast because of this."

"Oh?" Her tone was sharp, but her body betrayed her, shivering as his fingers toyed with the hem of her dress.

"Been noticing a lot, haven't you?"

"More than you think," he murmured, eyes locked on hers.

"And right now, I'm noticing how stunning you look... even flustered and fighting me."

Kenzie swallowed, heart pounding as Jungkook leaned in just close enough for his lips to ghost hers.

There was something dangerously addictive about the way Jungkook looked at her, like he was undressing her soul before even touching her body.

That smirk, dark and heated, made Kenzie's breath hitch and her thighs press together.

From the very first night she'd seen him, she'd known she was doomed.

But now?

Now she was completely wrecked by him.

Spending a whole month apart had been sweet torment, aching, burning, unbearable. She'd nearly snapped. The craving for him had grown so wild that she'd imagined ripping Sarah apart with her bare hands just to have him to herself.

But she reined in that twisted part of her. Barely. Because even in her madness, she still wanted to be the woman he adored not the mess he'd walk away from.

Jungkook's hand slid to the string of her dress, fingers curling around it possessively. But she caught his wrist, gripping tightly, the electricity between them so sharp it made her dizzy.
