"What did I miss?" Yunjin says as she enters the room. She went downstairs in the kitchen to raid Jin and Minji's fridge for some snacks when she heard someone knock on Hyein's door. Now coming back she sees Minji sprawled on the bed, her head buried on her pillow and Hanni was laughing at her as she leans back on Minji's headboard. Yunjin sets down all the snacks that she has acquired and sits on the edge of the bed by Hanni and Minji.
"Yeah, Minji. Please explain" Hanni says as she nudges Minji to show her face. Minji lifts up her head and looks at her friends. Talking about Haerin was not on her to do list on a Friday night.
So, Minji explains everything in detail. Even her big fight with Haerin and how it made her feel. Her friends listen to her intently. She ends her explanation and looks at her friends for any comments.
"Sounds like you guys both like each other and are too chicken to do anything about it" Yunjin says, she's still thinking. She's upset she didn't get to see this Haerin girl. According to Hanni the girl was gorgeous and she seemed a little upset at her and Minji's closeness. She even told Yunjin how Haerin referred to her as Minji's girlfriend.
"UGH. WHY DOES EVERY ONE KEEP SAYING THAT?! SHE HATES ME" Minji yells. She slumps on her bed, trying to dig herself deeper. She just wants her bed to swallow her whole.
"So she hates you. But do you hate her?" Hanni says she tries to pull Minji closer to her and Yunjin. Minji budges and moves to them, her head now resting on Yunjin's lap and Hanni plays with her hands.
"I don't know...not exactly. She used to be one of the closest people in my life but after that big fight...I don't know anymore. She changed" Minji sighs. She closes her eyes and tears fall down on her face. Guess she still wasn't over that big fight. It still affects her till this day. Images of Haerin's face with blood filled Minji's head. Minji blames herself for everything. That's why she never really retaliates to whatever Haerin says to her.
The girls decide to change the subject, Hanni remembers that Hyein mentioned Sunghoon's name. She decided to ask Minji about it.
"Sooooo what's this about Sunghoon?" Hanni asks as she smirks.
"Ugh. Hell man, you just like traumatizing me. Don't you?" Minji says as she throws a pillow at Hanni's face.
"Hyein mentioned him and I'm just curious," Hanni says, still smiling. Pillow ready to throw just in case Minji throws another one at her.
"Sunghoon? The pretty boy in the boy's soccer team?" Yunjin asked, her eyes glued to the TV now. The snacks are now on the bed and she's watching Love is Blind, she's a sucker for messy reality tv dramas.
"Yes, Sunghoon. He asked me out the other day, I haven't given him an answer yet" Minji tells her friends. This got Yunjins full attention. Hanni moves closer to Minji. Their eyes urged her to keep talking.
" Honestly, I'm just surprised he asked me out. Not after I embarrassed myself self infront of him." Minji says as she plays on a string on her bed.
"It was during tryouts and I was heading to the locker room. I got lost and accidentally entered the boys locker room. Sunghoon was kind enough to shield my eyes from the other guys as they whistled and walked me out, he helped me find my way to the girl's locker room" Minji tells them. Yunjin and Hanni were laughing. Sunghoon was a nice guy, all the girls had crushes on him. Hell, even Yunjin and Hanni had a crush on him at one point.
"I think you should say yes, he's a good guy. Besides, I think it could help you figure out your confusing feelings from your bestie turned enemy" Yunjin says as she throws popcorn in Minji's direction.
Minji glares at her. She was not confused at her feelings for Haerin, she does not like her like that. She just wants them to be back to normal, like how they were together before their big fight. Yunjin and Hanni laugh at her reaction.
They continue to watch the show but Minji's mind is somewhere else. Maybe she should say yes to Sunghoon. The girls were right, he is a really sweet guy. She smiles. She's made a decision. She grabs her phone and sends a quick text to Sunghoon. Hanni notices Minji smiling at her phone and makes a comment.
"Yeah, he'll be lucky to date you, Minji. You're the whole package. Honestly, i don't know who to be jealous of, you or Sunghoon" Hanni playfully says to Minji, giving her one of her sweet smiles. Minji smiles at Hanni. Her and Hanni are close and a lot of the students at school actually think they're dating because of how they act with each other. She recalls when Yunjin first referred to Hanni as her "other loaf of bread", the three couldn't stop laughing. Yunjin had to leave the two of them alone for the rest of the first period as they kept bickering about which bread was better.
"What about me? I'm the whole package too" Yunjin pouts at Hanni. Hanni pats her gently in the head and tries to reassure her.
"Yes, of course you are babe. The person just has to read the really tiny fine print on yours to be able to deal with your crazy ass" Hanni says to Yunjin jokingly. Yunjin pouts harder at her but laughs as she sees Hanni try to hold in her laughter.
The three of them are all close but Yunjin and Minji have more of a bromance type of friendship. Mostly getting roped into one of Yunjin's crazy ideas and Hanni having to bail both of them out. Hanni gets paired with both of them as she's super sweet and cares for the two alot. The students at school either want to date them or have them date each other. Minji never thought she'd be part of the popular kids, she's always done her best to keep away from the spotlight when she was in Korea. It was hard to do that out here though when she's friends with Yunjin and Hanni, they're just so friendly and just grab everyone's attention.
Minji has even accumulated some fans at schools, it felt weird having attention on her, she's not used to that. And now she has a boy who's popular and everyone wants to date interested in her, she's definitely not used to that. She had Chan and Felix but they don't really count since she knows they're just joking around. She hopes she made the right decision saying yes to Sunghoon. He was nice, he always looked at her with kind eyes. Unlike Haerin. The way he spoke to her was always soft spoken and sweet. Unlike Haerin. Wait. Why is she thinking about Haerin right now?. She makes a face, confused and angry. Minji shakes the thoughts of Haerin away. Even when she's a thousand miles apart from her, Haerin always has a way to weasel her way back into Minji's head to ruin her day.
