Chapter 23

The student council room is dead silent. No one dared to move. Jennie and Haerin are still looking at each other. Hyewon has moved on to the side to look at both her sisters, she scans the room and locks on to Hyein, her mouth is slightly open. She sees that Dani closes Hyein's mouth for her.

"It doesn't matter." Haerin says quietly. She breaks eye contact with Jennie and steps away from her.

"What do you mean it doesn't matter?" Jennie asks Haerin, annoyed by what she just heard her little sister say. She swears that Haerin is being a brat again, does she not understand how important this piece of information is? Minji is still sketching. And not just any sketches but sketches of Haerin. Jennie knows how important sketching is for Minji and for her to incorporate Haerin into something she loves, it says a lot to the older Kang.

"It doesn't matter because she's probably done sketches of her girlfriend too," Haerin says bitterly. She's confused and happy at the same time. The fact that Minji sketched her and her favorite flowers. But she doesn't understand why Minji was sketching her instead of her girlfriend. Haerin scrunches her eyebrows trying to understand what Minji was thinking about when she was sketching Haerin. What were Minji's feelings? Why did she draw her?

"Girlfriend? Minji unnie doesn't have a girlfriend" Hyein's voice breaks Haerin out of her thoughts. Haerin looks at Hyein with a confused expression and opens her mouth to speak but Hyein beats her to the punch.

"Hanni-unnie is one of Minji unnie's best friend out there, they're really close and not just Hanni unnie but also Yunjin-Unnie. You just don't see alot of Yunjin unnie cause she's usually off doing something stupid on the sidelines' ' Hyein explains to her, she makes her way towards Haerin with her phone and shows Hanni's instagram feed. Her feed is a little different from Yunjin's. There were alot of photos of Minji and Yunjin doing goofy things together, but she could see that she had the same closeness to her as she did with Hanni.

"Who's that?" Haerin asks, she looks at a photo on the feed and it was of Yunjin and Sunoo, she has him on a headlock and half of Hanni's face in the picture, you could see that she was laughing.

"Oh that's Sunoo-oppa" Hyein says confused, why is Haerin interested in Sunoo?

"No, not him. The one beside Minji" Haerin says, her eyes are focused on the background of the photo. The two people behind Yunjin and Sunoo weren't the main focus of the picture but the person beside the guy catches Haerin's attention. The guy has his arms around the girl as they sit on the couch behind their other friends. What bothered Haerin was how close the guy's face was to Minji's face.

"Oh that. Uhhh..that's Sunghoon-oppa." Hyein says quietly. Haerin looks at her, her face looks like she's waiting for an explanation on why he was so close to Minji. Minji never lets anyone get that close to her, not even Chan or Felix.

"He's Minji Unnie's boyfriend," Hyein says, looking worriedly at her friend. Haerin silently chuckles to herself and shakes her head, still looking at the picture.

"Not a girlfriend, but a boyfriend. Great" Haerin says to herself, she grabs her things and looks at the rest of the student council members and tells them that she's going to head to class.

The room was full of tension. Everyone stayed rooted in their spot until Haerin closed the door behind her.

"BOYFRIEND?!" Jennie screams. She looks at Hyewon and Chaewon for confirmation, both girls wave their hands up in the air for defense.

"We didn't know they were dating, last time we talked she said that he just asked her out and stuff" Both girls try to defend themselves. Which is true, they haven't asked Minji about Sunghoon after she told them and Minji never spoke about Sunghoon much either. The girls just thought that they were still in the talking stage and nothing came out of it.
