Chapter 42

Haerin stares blankly at her phone, Minji hasn't texted her since she left. She knows that she's probably busy with her friends but she atleast hoped that Minji would have texted her by now.

"Just text her" Dani tells her, she's been secretly on her phone texting Hanni. Haerin sighs and looks at Dani

"What are they doing right now?" Haerin asks, Dani smiles at her and shows her a picture that Hanni has sent her. It was a group photo of the girls with the food that they had just ordered. She carefully looks at the table and sees that there was peanut powder near Minji. She scowls and wonders why it's close to the girl when she knows that she's allergic to peanuts.

Haerin immediately pulls out her phone and sends a text. She's upset that the peanut powder is on the table, do they not know that Minji is allergic to peanuts?

Kitty Kang: peanut powder

MinBear: ???

Kitty Kang: peanut powder on the table, near the kimchi

MinBear: 😯

Kitty Kang: why'd you order that when you know you're allergic?

MinBear: I didn't. It came with the food. Thank you for telling me

Kitty Kang: you're welcome. Please be careful.

Kitty Kang: When will you be home?

Haerin looks at her phone and sees that Minji hasn't replied to her. She feels a nudge on her shoulders and sees that it was Dani.

"Hanni Unnie said thank you for the heads up about the peanut powder" Dani tells her sweetly, Haerin nods and looks at her phone.

"She also said that they'll be home later tonight, Yeji sunbae has invited them to a show tonight" Dani tells the girl, Haerin looks at her and shakes her head.

"Why is Hanni the one telling me this and not Minji?" Haerin says bitterly, she knows that Minji is probably still upset at her but at least talks to her and not through their friends. Dani looks at her phone and widens her eyes at what Hanni had texted her. Haerin notices and asks what it was that the girl sent. Dani shakes her head and refuses to tell her, Haerin hardens her gaze at Dani and finally gives the girl her phone for the girl to read the message.

"She's still upset about earlier and says she just wants space right now" Haerin reads. She scoffs and hands Dani her phone. She crosses her arms and looks out the window. She could feel the tears building up but she shakes it off. She knows that it was her own doing that Minji is acting like this, as much as she's used to Minji being distant from her she doesn't like the feeling any more.

The bell finally rings to signal the end of the day, and the girls make their way to the front where Minji's friends are. They stand around as they wait for Taecyeon to come pick up Hyein, Haerin and Dani. The Three Musketeer+ gang has decided they are going to a nearby cafe to do their homework before they head home. As the group gathers, they talk about their plans for the summer, one more day and it'll be summer break. Their talk was interrupted when Ni-ki cleared his throat. Hyewon crosses her arms, Chan and Felix stand protectively by the girl and Chaewon gives him a glare.

"Haerin, can I borrow you for a second?" Ni-ki asks the girl, she's surrounded by her friends and he could sense that his presence is not welcomed.

"What is it? You can say it in front of us" Hyewon says to the younger boy. Minji has texted their friend group earlier explaining why she acted the way she did earlier at lunch. They understood where Minji was coming from and tried to reassure Minji that Haerin doesn't feel anything for the boy.
