It's been a month now since Minji went on a date with Sunghoon. Jin wasn't too thrilled when he saw Sunghoon on their doorstep with flowers in his hands. He still doesn't know how to feel about Minji dating but for now, he's decided to be the supportive uncle and see how this plays out. Besides, he has more important things to deal with other than Minji's love life. Very Important. Like Minji's parents wanting to visit them for the holidays important. He still has yet to break the news to Minji, it's only October but he knows he has to tell her soon so they can both mentally prepare themselves.
Flashback
"Good evening, Sir. I-im here to pick up, Minji" Sunghoon says, his eyes locked on to Jin. He scratches his neck and clears his throat. Jin was still looking at him. They hear a motorcycle coming up to the driveway and turn their attention to the man that was getting off his bike. Joon takes off his helmet and looks at Sunghoon.
"A little too young for you don't you think?" Joon says as he keeps his eyes on Sunghoon. Sunghoon feels intimidated by both of them. He darts his eyes from both men.
"Here's here for Minji" Jin says, he crosses his arms and leans in the doorway. Sunghoon notices that Joon's stance has also changed. Joon moves closer to Sunghoon, his arms crossed and looks him up and down. Sunghoon clears his throat and awkwardly smiles at both men. The men didn't return his smile, instead they just kept a stoic look on their faces. Their attention gravitates to the hurried noises inside the house.
"Hii, i'm here. Sorry I took longer than expected" Minji says as she rushes downstairs. She sees her Uncle and Joon looking at her date. Oh god, she forgot about these two. Jin and Joon have become overly protective over her. It's like having two Taehyungs. She rushes past both of them and grabs Sunghoon by the arm and drags him away to his car. Sunghoon is a year older than her and has his license, Minji is thankful that her Uncle or Joon doesn't have to chaperone their date.
"SHE BETTER BE HOME BEFORE MIDNIGHT" Jin calls out to them from the driveway.
"I TOOK A PICTURE OF YOU PLATE, I WILL FIND YOU IF SHE'S NOT HOME BY MIDNIGHT" Joon yells after Jin. They're still looking at Sunghoon's car.
"Don't pay them any mind, they're just worried," Minji says to Sunghoon. Sunghoon smiles at her.
"I totally understand. You're beautiful and I can see why they'd be protective." Sunghoon says to her. He starts his car and they drive to a park.
"So what do you have planned for us for tonight?" Minji asks him, enjoying the night lights during the drive.
"Mhm. You'll see" Sunghoon winks at her. Minji blushes and laughs. She watches as Sunghoon drives. She's always thought he was handsome but seeing him now, she thinks he's even more attractive. He feels her staring at her and he takes one hand off the wheel and reaches out for her hand.
"Is it okay if I hold your hand?" He asks, eyes still trained to the road.
"Mhm, it's fine but will you be okay driving with one hand?" Minji asks shyly. She looks at their intertwined hands, his hands are bigger than hers. He gives her hands a light squeeze and she looks up at him. He takes his eyes from the road for a second and smiles at her.
"More than okay," He says, still smiling. Minji feels her face heat up.
They arrived at a park. There's only a few people out there since it's already dark. It's still a well lit area. Sunghoon gets out of the car and opens the door for Minji, he waits until Minji holds his hand and leads the way to a more secluded area.
It's darker here, Minji thought. He leads her to a path and she sees a blanket laid out with candles and a picnic basket. She looks at Sunghoon, confused. When did he have time to prepare for this? He was with her the whole time.
