Haerin and Minji sit in silence in the office. Their parents have left them alone to talk more about this new situation that they're in. They look around the room, both are trying to process what has just happened. Did they parents really just arrange for them to get married? Is this how Taehyung and Jennie felt?
"how–" both of them say at the same time. They both blush and put their heads down, both of them ushering for each other to continue to say what the other wanted to say first.
Minji squirms in her seat, today has been unexpected. She didn't know that her family was going to talk to her about marrying Haerin, she didn't expect to blow up on her father or for him to have kept her notebook all these years. She looks back at Haerin and wonders what she's thinking of.
Haerin sits there in silence, she's also trying to figure out what Minji is thinking right now. She never expected her parents to pull her out of school today and announce her engagement to Minji. Haerin must admit though, she's happy about the engagement because she knows how she feels about Minji but she wonders how Minji feels about it since she doesn't know what Minji feels for her. She bites her lips and wonders if she should tell Minji how she feels now.
"How do you feel about the engagement?" Haerin breaks their silence. Minji blinks her eyes at her, she looks away from Haerin as she answers her question.
"Uhh. I mean, it caught me off guard if I'm going to be honest. Especially since our parents know that you don't really like me" Minji sadly chuckles, she's reminded that Haerin doesn't like her like how she likes her.
"I never said I don't like you" Haerin tells her quietly, Minji looks at Haerin and raises her eyebrows at her.
"Well, your actions definitely said it" Minji tells her, she crosses her arms and Haerin pouts at her. Minji could've sworn her stomach did a somersault.
"I was upset at you." Haerin tells Minji. She sees the girl sigh and slump deeper in her seat.
"Right, cause I got you hurt when we fought '' Minji says sadly, she looks at Haerin and sees that Haerin's gaze was on her. She doesn't know where she found the courage but Minji stands up and makes her way over to where Haerin was, she stands in front of Haerin and slowly reaches up to touch Haerin's cheeks. Both girls tense up as Minji's fingers make their way onto Haerin's cheeks, she stops right where a faint scar is seen on the girl's face. She caresses Haerin's cheeks and looks at the girl with such intensity that Haerin had to look away.
"I wasn't upset at you for that. I was upset that you said you were going to stop drawing" Haerin admits shyly. Minji retracts her hands away from Haerin, they both immediately miss each other's skin. Minji looks at her incredulously and snorts.
"You were upset at me for that long because of that?!" Minji asks her, is Haerin being serious right now? She looks at the girl in front of her but Haerin has her head hung low. Minji grabs Haerin's hands and pulls her up from the seat. She drags Haerin out of the office and up the stairs towards her room.
Once inside the room, Minji lets go of Haerin's hands and walks over to her desk. She opens up one of her drawers and pulls out a few notebooks that were stashed away. She motions for Haerin to come to where she was and hands the girl one of the notebooks. Minji is afraid of what Haerin will think of her once she sees what's inside the notebook.
Haerin flips the notebook and sees that it was a familiar portrait that she saw years ago, she flips to the other pages and sees that it was the same portrait but with different styles.
"So you wanted to show me that you've been sketching Jennie-unnie all this time?" Haerin asks, annoyance laced in her voice.
"That's not Jennie-unnie! That's you!" Minji defends herself, she grabs the notebook from Haerin and shoves them back onto her drawer. Minji huffs in annoyance as she couldn't believe that Haerin would think that she was sketching her sister.
