chapter 035. a human shield
[ her last resort was to take all the damage ]

oars was stretching his arms.
if usopp had already found his situation entirely hopeless, now, it was hopeless even more than before.
his entire figure shook as oars brought his fist down on him, mouth dropping open. "gomu-gomu no..."
"he's coming! usopp, run away!" zoro screamed at him with an injured [name] in his arms.
he tried to leap out of the way, but it didn't work for every single one over there. nami, now on the ground that had been the guinea pig of his initial discovery, was able to stay on her feet, even when she stumbled a bit.
[name] pulled out of zoro's arms, wiping the blood off of her arms. she knew she wasn't okay on the inside and covered in she didn't know how many bruises, even a few broken ribs, but she could handle this.
zoro wanted to scold her for pulling that stunt earlier, but he brushed it away for now, understanding her desperation to save the members.
sanji, however, questioned, "[name]-chan!! why did you do that just now?! you could've died!"
"are you alright?!" such a question was useless to ask because she wasn't fine, but chopper still asked.
[name] gave a thumbs up, breathing heavily, covered in bruises. she couldn't hear much over her dizziness, and couldn't see much either. but she wasn't going to fall right now, not ever.
oars let's out a laugh like luffy, "i can fight better now that my body stretches." his head returns to its normal position before he sends his feet down at them. "spear!"
"look out!"
once again the straw hats are all scrambling to get out of the way. they were reaching their limits...they could only dodge for so long.
"shit!" sanji spits. "what's going on?! his power just went up by a lot!"
"he doesn't have any devil fruit powers, so how can he stretch?!" zoro grunts. "what did moria do to him!?"
moria laughs, "yes, you finally understand the nightmare you're up against! it's the power of the kage-kage no mi, shadow revolution! isn't it amazing!?"
"revolution?!" nami, usopp, chopper, and franky blurt out.
"shadows are based on the body that casts them. this is common sense. the body and shadow must look and move the same. it's the law of nature. but right now, oars's own shadow, which is supposed to obey oars, is being controlled by my shadow from within! i can freely change the shape of oars's shadow, forcing oars's body to fit that same shape! so, you see, the shadow doesn't follow the body, the body is forced to follow the shadow! this is the shadow revolution!"
