chapter 045. broken apart

[ i'm sorry...]

[name] was walking aimlessly around sabody archipelago.

she didn't wish to return back to her crew right now. she walked all around the place, through the crowds that spoke screams and everything...but nothing went past her ears. she just walked and walked, bumping shoulders with people that turned around to curse her, but the moment she looked into their eyes, whoever it was...froze in their place.

she ignored the people who she gave a dark look and turned back on her course, strolling around to who-knows-where.

sabody archipelago sang with black boots against grass, grass touching stone words that ebb from people's lips around her but she became webbed into the air tightly, too delusional and drifting away to the chaos inside of her mind to understand anything.

her mind...was blank.

she forced herself to keep it blank and not think.

if she thinks...everything would end.

but the silence shattered like glass when explosions rocked the air around her.

a sudden scream, then another. chaos bloomed instantly like wildfire, and it pulled her—ripped her—from her daze. pirates scrambled past her, their faces pale, eyes wide with horror, sprinting as if the very devil was on their heels.

she blinked slowly, lifting her gaze to the horizon where smoke curled into the sky. a mangrove tree, one of the massive, living pillars of the island, had been blasted apart in the distance, its bark now a splintered wound in the landscape.

she had overheard rayleigh and the rest say something about the marines and a marine admiral on their way to the island, and...it was her fault, wasn't it?

no, it wasn't. captain...he still would have punched the world nobles even if it wasn't me. camie was about to get sold off after all...

pirates were running past her and she began looking around, witnessing a mangrove tree had been blasted off in a distance. she blinked a few times as pirates run past her, looking as if they had seen the devil himself.

in a distance...[name] sensed a powerful presence heading straight for her.

a marine admiral.

the same precense aokiji and master erza gave off.

the presence that was nearly crushing her bones from standing alone.

in the distance..she saw him.
