the higher they went, the temperature steadily decreased. the prison cells were the same, the bland stone encasing everything was the same, and the feeling of being locked away in this horrid place and treated like an animal was the same.
"w-what?! master almost declared war?! why?!"
running beside luffy and the rest, lucy was by her side as [name] filled the blonde in on everything that had happened in her absence, "you know master is protective over us. after cp0 captured you, if yuri hadn't stopped her, you would've been freed much more earlier."
[name] continued, "but we decided to see if you would get executed or not. if you did, then master would come rushing to this place to break everyone out. i'm not sure if she is honestly, since both of us are here now..."
"but capturing the two of us...aren't the marines basically declaring war on our guild indirectly?"
"who knows. master still hasn't confirmed anything as of yet..."
lucy gulped and looked over her shoulder after knocking another manticore coming straight for her with a small combat enchantment, realizing suddenly that the poison guy from before...was gone.
"that's weird!" luffy shouted as he met his back with [name] after punching another manticore, "that poison guy was right behind us!"
"iva and ivankov were standing by the stairs a second ago," bon clay replies as he manically spins to kick multiple manticores around him.
"are they fighting the poison guy right now!? we have to go back!"
"are you crazy!?" bon clay snaps. "that's all the more reason for us to keep moving! we have to believe! believe in the power of the miracle worker!"
luffy grinds his teeth. "alright, but i don't like it!"
"what's going on here?" crocodile grunts. "where are all the security personnel?"
"that's odd," jinbei grumbles. "i don't see any prisoners anywhere. somone must've freed them."
lucy looks around at all the cells with their doors wide open and not a single soul inside. "all the cells are open! is there someone else breaking prisoners out in this chaos?!"
she is unable to get her answer by the time the small army defeated the small number of manticores. [name] ran up the stairs once more without skipping a single breath; one more level. there's only one more level before everyone can break out into the sunshine and fresh air. only one level stands in her way of making her way towards ace.
