chapter 043. the true fist of love

[ don't you dare...hurt my pillar! ]

chaos had broken out among them the moment camie disappeared - no, kidnapped. desperation clung to the air, thick and suffocating, as the crew scrambled for a plan.

sanji had barely managed to get the words out—suggesting the flying fish riders to search the countless islands of sabaody—when a single voice cut through the tension like a blade.

"grove one."

the room fell silent. sanji's head turned towards [name], her voice always calm amidst the rising panic.

"...excuse me?"

sanji looked at [name] in confusion, her answer to chopper's earlier question echoing through all of their ears.

he could feel the weight of her words settle over them, heavy and immovable. chopper, who had been on the verge of another outburst, hesitated before speaking through the den-den mushi. "wait, really?! are you sure?"

the [h/c] turned her face away, walking out of the door of the infirmary, "she got kidnapped, most likely for being a mermaid. she's definitely at grove one...that's where all the captives are sold off...into slavery."

sanji stared at her retreating form, the casual way she dropped that information making the hairs on his neck stand on end. the others immediately sprang into action—chopper, now fueled by urgency, shouted, "alright, we'll head over there immediately!" and dropped the call—but sanji found himself frozen for a brief moment, mind whirring as he processed what he just heard.

how did she know that?

the question nagged at him, clawed at the back of his mind, but there was no time to dwell on it. the flying fish riders had arrived, roaring in on their beasts, and [name] seemed to sink further into herself, her focus entirely on camie.

when duval rambled on about his so-called handsome features, she didn't even spare him a glance. sanji might've brushed it off if not for the look in her eyes—vacant, distant, as though she was somewhere far away.

"[name], come on!" usopp snapped her out by jumping onto a seat on one of the flying fish, ready to take a ride to grove one.

"we're first going to pick up your straw hat friends that are scattered around the sabody archipelago!" deval said as the fishmen riders started up the engine, "get on!"
