Chapter 43

Finn

After Liam left for school, Shelby and I sat in the dining room having our breakfast.

"I am going to see Nicole today. You can come with me if you want." Shelby said and before I responded the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it. Keep me thinking about visiting Nicole." Shelby said and sprinted to open the door.

"Someone is here for you," Shelby said in a raised voice. I walked to the door.
"I doubt you're going to be happy with this," Shelby said as she walked back to the dining area.

"You're right. I don't like it." I said and groaned angrily

"Told ya" Shelby responded

"Detective, what are you doing here? Am I under arrest?"

"I am here to apologize to you. I feel bad for what I did." Julia responded

"You are not wrong to feel that way. What you did was selfish. You betrayed me." I said

"I know and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I miss you, Finn." She said
"And still there is a lot of work at the station that requires your skills. Gordon is still out there killing innocent people." She added

"And who's fault is that? I'll tell you. It's yours, Detective. If you didn't get my mom arrested she would have helped us to catch Gordon. I did everything right to make it happen but you screwed it. So, I don't care what Gordon does. Get the hell out of my sight."

"I understand you are mad at me but at Georgina?"
"Why the hell haven't you gone to see her? You abandoned her in the hospital after you got her shot." She said

"That's none of your fucking business. You should go now and stay the hell away from Georgina." I spoke angrily

"Maybe you should go and  say that to Jasper who has been smothering her with fancy restaurant dates," Julia said

"What the hell did you just say?"

"I saw them last night. They were on a date and they seemed so cozy. So, you see, I think I am the least of your worries." She responded
Goodbye, Finn." She added and walked away. I slammed the door angrily. The thought of Georgina and Jasper going out together was beyond my comprehension.

"What the fuck is wrong with you Georgina?" I asked literally no one.

"Are you alright? Is Georgina alright?" Shelby asked

"I gotta go," I said and stormed out of the house walked to the parking lot hopped in my car, and, drove away.

A few minutes later I was at the premises of Davis residence. I pulled over a few meters to their house as I did not want to draw Marcus's attention in case he was home.
I walked in the backyard and used my powers to climb the wall in just a second.  Luckily, the window to Georgina's room was open. Before I jumped in I lifted the curtain and peeked in only to close it back since I couldn't believe what I was looking at. Jasper was kissing Georgina on her bed. I took a second to think and then jumped in and startled them.

"Finn!"Georgina called my name shakily

"Please don't hit me. I am sorry, Peterson. "Jasper begged

"I won't. As much as I want to I won't. She knows what you put her through and she still chooses to keep you close. Maybe I am the one who's crazy to think that you are a bad person for trying to force yourself on her." I said
"I am done. You can do whatever you want, Georgina. It's your life. " I added and started walking back to the window then stopped when Georgina started talking.

"You abandoned me, Finn. You never reached out to me to ask how I was doing after you had me shot. "

"I didn't get you shot. You did. If you didn't go running away with him you wouldn't have gotten shot." I spoke angrily

"And if you didn't tell your mother that you were going to break up with me, I wouldn't have  gotten shot." She said

"I wasn't gonna break up with you. I was lying to my mom so she could agree to come back with me and help us with Gordon. You know that I would never break up with you for my mom. She left us, Georgina. She can't tell me what to do." I said
"Also it's not that I abandoned you. I came here a few days after you got discharged but Marcus kicked me out. He said you didn't want to see me and that you were glad that they arrested my mom." I added

"What?" She asked

"I never gave up on you, Georgina but it seems like you made your decision.Goodbye." I said and jumped out through the window.

# Georgina

We stood perplexed for a few minutes after Finn left. I was not exactly sure what I was feeling at the moment.

"Are you okay?" Jasper asked

"Yeah, we should head to school. We have a test to sit for in the next thirty minutes." I responded
"Let's go," I added and we exited the room. Marcus had already left with Beach so I was not worried about Jasper walking through the front door.

We used Jasper's car to drive to school and we arrived there in twenty minutes. Jasper pulled over at the parking lot and we walked to the classroom together. To my expectations, everyone including Raven and Helena shot questioning glares at us. We continued walking and sat together. A few minutes later Madam Kenna walked in and passed the papers to us.

One hour later after the scheduled time for the test was done, we submitted our papers and Madam Kenna walked away after wishing us a good summer break.
We left the classroom with Jasper holding my hand. Walking through the hallways everyone turned their heads to us while murmuring among themselves.

"How are you planning to do this summer break?" Jasper asked

"I am not sure yet. I don't have any plans." I responded

"You should come with me to my family's beach house. It's a perfect place to be and I wouldn't mind being there with you." Jasper said

"That sounds irresistible but I don't know if I can. " I said

"And why's that?" Jasper asked

"What would I tell Marcus?"

"You can lie to him. Tell him that you'll be spending the summer break with your friends.  Just find some good reason to give him. You are so smart. I am sure you'll come up with something ." Jasper said
"Anyway, I'll see you around." He added and without a warning kissed me. I was startled that I didn't kiss him back.

"I didn't know we were doing this in public," I said

"Sorry, I just got carried away by your alluring beauty. Goodbye, Gina ." Jasper said and walked away.  I chuckled lightly.  I continued walking.

# Finn

I was sitting on my bed smoking cigarettes from the old cigar guy. I was feeling pretty exhausted and angry.  I still couldn't believe that Georgina had chosen Jasper over me.
A few minutes later, someone knocked on my door. I groaned angrily and then said; "come in."
Shelby walked in.

"Did you decide whether you'll be going to visit Nicole with me?" She asked

"No. I am not going with you." I responded
"Get the hell out of my room now," I added

"Did something happen when you were gone?" She asked
"You look kinda sad." She added

"It's none of your business how I am, Shelby. You being here is enough bother on us. Don't add more troubles." I said

"I didn't know I was a bother but don't worry I'll find somewhere to stay from today," Shelby said and walked away

"As if you'll find a place to be. I know you'll be back." I spoke sarcastically and then chuckled lightly
