Chapter 79

*Author's pov*

"What the hell is going on?" Shelby asked

"They betrayed us." Nicole responded, and everyone shifted their attention from her to Finn and Julia on the couch.
"What the hell is this, Finn?" Nicole asked

"Is this a party's game? Are we supposed to break ourselves free and escape?" Tony asked
"I am asking if it's like an escape room where we are supposed to find clues to free ourselves and escape? He asked

"Come on, Finn Peterson. We are too old for that type of shit." Gordon said, he then tried to break his handcuffs using his half-demon powers but failed. He attempted for the second time and still failed.
"Why the hell can't I break these damn handcuffs?"

The rest of the half-demons attempted to break themselves free but failed.

"What the hell is going on, Finn?" Nicole Peterson asked

"It's over guys. I am sorry." Finn responded

"What the hell do you mean it's over?" Gordon asked

"You no longer have your powers because you're no longer half-demons. We transformed you back and for my mom she can't use her powers because those chains are special and are holding her powers back." Finn responded and startled everyone. They all glared at him and the Detective in disbelief.

"Come on, tell me that you're joking, Peterson. There's no way on earth you can do that." Gordon spoke with a rueful grin on his face.

"I would love to tell you that but I can't. We took away your powers. You're just like normal people now." Finn responded, he then stood up and walked closer to Gordon.
"You were not an original half-demon and so transforming you wasn't hard."  He added

"Why the hell would you do that?" Shelby asked
"You're a selfish person, Finn. I just got transformed. I didn't even get a chance to enjoy my powers. I thought I had gotten something for myself. Something that was finally going to make me like the rest of the family but you took it away. You didn't even think twice." Shelby continued ranting in a sad voice.

"And why the hell did you break me out of prison if you were going to trap me?" Nicole Peterson asked
"You should have left me to rot there." She added

"There's no need to keep talking about this. We took away your powers because you were all using them for the wrong cause. You are willing to harm more innocent people for your benefit. We had to stop you." Detective Julia spoke

"There you go again, perfect Julia Sutton. You drove me away from home because you didn't want me using my powers and when I thought everything was fine and that you had grown to appreciate what we are, I came back to you but you're again betraying me." Nicky Sutton spoke
"You're so selfish and I hate you." He added in a raised voice

"You all heard what the detective said. You were using your powers recklessly and that's now what we half-demons do. We are supposed to use our powers for the good cause. To help...

"Cut the bullshit, Peterson. Don't you dare start feeding our heads with that nonsense." Gordon spoke angrily
"I believed you when you said we should stick together and take over the city."
"And fuck! That whisky was too good to be true. You fucking spiked it, didn't you, asshole?" Gordon asked

"Yes, I did and you were all so lame to fall for it. Why the hell did you even think I was going to join you?" Finn asked
"You were right though. I have found myself back. I have people who love me back in my life. I got Liam back, Georgina, and my scholarship by the way."

"We are your family, Finn. You can't do this to us. We love you too." Nicole spoke

"We might be related by blood but you don't love me. You and Shelby are only here for yourselves." Finn protested

"Now that you have us handcuffed, what are you going to do with us?" Gordon asked
"Hold us hostages in your crappy house?" He asked

"No." Finn responded, and grinned as ringing sirens approached his apartment.
"Those are for you." He added

"You were right about me too. A cop will always be a cop." Detective Julia spoke, Everyone shot a harsh glare at her.
A second later, the door opened and the inspector together with five officers walked in.

"Wow!" The inspector exclaimed after catching a glimpse of everyone sitting on the floor handcuffed and Nicole Peterson chained.
"I didn't think you were going to do it. At least not so fast." She added

"We are you best officers. " Detective Julia spoke

"You are the best for sure. Thanks for the good work guys." The inspector said
"Officers, take these criminals away." She added

"But they are criminal too. Finn and the detective are half-demons too." Shelby shouted

"And they broke me out." Nicole Peterson shouted

"And we did some dirty stuff with Finn Peterson." Tony spoke

"He too should be arrested." Shelby spoke

"And my sister too. She's not innocent. She's the real devil here." Nicky Sutton spoke

"You're going to regret this, Finn Peterson." Gordon spoke angrily
"I am coming for you two and I promise I'll kill you."  Gordon threatened

"Take them out of my sight, officers." The inspector said , and the officers escorted the handcuffed half-demons out.

"We completed our end of the deal and we just hope that you're going to keep your word and protect us." Finn spoke

"Of course, and even better. You both are allowed to come back to work if you want." The inspector responded
"Would you like to come back?" She asked

"Of course, we would." Detective Julia responded instantly with a huge grin curving on her lips.
"There's nothing I would love more than having my job back. I am sorry for betraying you, inspector but I promise you that it's not going to happen again."

"What about you, Finn? Would you like to come back?"

"Yes, but this time  I am going to work with a pay check and part-time since I am back to school. If I can work under those two conditions then I am back like I never left."

"I can arrange a paycheck for you and of course, you can work part-time for me." The inspector said

"Then I am officially working for you, Madam inspector." Finn spoke

"I guess I'll get going now. I'll see you at work on Monday." The inspector said, and started walking towards the door.

"Thank you for giving our jobs back." Detective Julia spoke

"Okay." The inspector said, and exited the house.

Detective Julia without a warning threw herself on Finn and hugged him tightly. Finn directed his hands around her waist and both embraced together for a few seconds.
Detective Julia, broke from the hug and again without a warning kissed Finn. Finn got startled.

"Why the hell would you do that?"

"I am sorry. I am just overexcited and a little drunk." Julia responded
"I am so sorry, Finn. I know you and Georgina are back together. I shouldn't have done it."

"It's okay. " Finn spoke

"I should get going." Detective Julia said, the grasped her purse from the couch and started walking away.

"I am taking you home. You're so drunk, Detective." Finn spoke, he reached for his jacket and car keys and followed Julia out.
