Hello! I'd like to wish you a happy new year in 2024, and I'm back with the next part of the story. If you liked it, don't hesitate to vote or comment.

Elena's point of view

We were soon back in the jungle with the colonel's company.

We settled in as we saw his son climb up, seemingly holding the submachine gun before Quaritch put him back on the bench, calming his ardor

Quaritch: Your helmet is equipped with a tracking device. If you try to run away from us, I'll find you in less than two minutes and kick your ass. Got it?!

Not seeing him answer clearly, he repeated in a more emphatic tone, before Spider finally agreed. Then our helicopter took off, gaining altitude and gradually moving away from the base, which disappeared more and more from our view. Ben just stared, silent, deep in thought. As for his friends, they stared at the horizon in concentration, and I could see a glint of hatred in their eyes. Indeed, the absent Gaël had been killed during the Sully and Menariyä attacks. And you could tell they were looking for a good opportunity to avenge their friend. As for me, I was worried about Ben. Since that evening, I found him more and more withdrawn. He was going down a dangerous path, and I hoped my son would understand that, just in time.

But if his original had already joined the Na'vis, was there any possibility that the current one could do the same? No! I was there to make sure he was on the right path. I won't lose my family, I swear.

Later on,

We finished to land in the forest and regrouped, to hear the colonel give his briefing.

Quaritch: Jake Sully is hiding in the area. But we'll eventually find him and his ferocious bitch of a wife. To do that, we have to behave like Na'vi. Move Na'vi, Eat Na'vi.

Then he put his finger to his forehead: Think Na'vi

Then he began to speak the language of the people of Pandora

Quaritch: And he began to speak like them.

So he began to speak Na'vi, repeating his instruction. But the accent and awkward pronunciation made his son chuckle.

Spider in Na'vi: You call that speaking Na'vi? A three-year-old would speak better.

Me in Na'vi: I guess you know better, don't you? After all, you've been around natives all your life, haven't you?

His smile faded when he heard my mastery of the native language.

Quaritch: Bravo! You've gone from mascot monkey to official interpreter.

Sted: How are you, Ben?

Ben: Nothing, Sted. Just in my thoughts.

Sted: Don't dawdle. The band won't wait for you. This is no time to be dreaming.

With that, we set off. But my concern for my son only increased. I hoped Ben wouldn't follow in his old man's footsteps.

Later,

We had followed Spider, who forced us to climb the floating hills. Thanks to our training and the Na'vis's natural abilities, we managed without difficulty. I really hoped Miles Junior wasn't taking us for a ride. After all, he was friends with the blue cats. Why would he help us? He had every reason to lead us into a trap. So we continued climbing, before crossing a vegetation bridge.

Me: Hey, Miles Junior!

Spider : My name's Spider.

Me: Spider...where are you taking us? I hope you're not up to something...
