Chapter 3

We decided to invite Jackie to our group since nobody else did.
"He's like totally in love with you" Skylar said as he shoved my arm
"Isaac?" Jackie asked
"You know about her crush?" Skylar asked while looking at me then Jackie
"I told her yesterday by accident" I said looking down after
"Wait what happened?" Jackie asked
"He hugged me cause I was crying that's all" I replied
"Then you guys cuddled and he read to you." Skylar said smiling
"It wasn't cuddling." I said
"How were you guys laying?" Jackie asked
"I was laying on him and he had his arm over my shoulder" I replied "Why?"
"That is cuddling!" Skylar screamed
Soon my other friend came running in
"Sky. You know that new girl who was sitting with Cole Walter?" She exclaimed
"Grace" He interrupted
"apparently her mom was some fashion designer" she continued
"Grace" he said again
"and she died six months ago in a car accident with her whole family! It was really sad actually" she went on
"Grace!" I yelled
Jackie turned around in her chair
"Hi." she said
"Holy sh-" Grace said
"What she means is sorry" sky added
"dude not cool" I said
"Yeah. I'm really super sorry. I didn't know you were right there" She said
"it's fine" Jackie responded
Grace awkwardly nodded then sat next to Skylar
"So sorry how do you know Cole" She asked
"I don't really know him. We only just met" She said before looking at me
"Huh and he just told you to sit with him?" Grace asked
"He was just being nice" Jackie said
Sky and Grace laughed
"Okay no. Cole Walter doesn't do nice. Unless your Nova here and your boyfriend is Isaac even though you haven't put a label on it" Sky said
"Yea all of the Walter's defend her like she's their sister" Grace added
"Okay enough. Don't give Jackie your bad habits. Jackie I see you did really well in chemistry at your last school. Maybe you could help these two focus" The teacher said
"Hey what about Nova?!" Sky asked
"yea what about her?" Grace added
"she's doing great" the teacher added
I stuck my tongue out and laughed

Class finished and I was waiting with Sky, Jackie and Grace for Isaac. Kiley walked up and stood in front of Jackie
"You must be Jackie" Kiley said
"Right" Jackie replied
"I'm Kiley" She said
They shook hands
"Nice to meet you" Jackie replied
"You moved in with the Walter's right?"Kiley asked
Isaac put his arm over me and scared me. I turned back and he laughed
"Hello to you too beautiful" he said
"Jeez Isaac you scared the shit out of me" I said snuggling into his arm
"See y'all tomorrow" I said to my group
We walked past Carlos and his stupid girlfriend. He looked at Isaac holding me and gave me the angriest look ever. He was walking over when Isaac pulled me closer to him and we walked off. We headed to the car and got in. Cole was waiting for Jackie but it was already 3:40 so he started driving. We reached the house and all got out. I walked up to Isaac's room and laid down.
"Hey you okay?" Alex asked
"Huh?" I said
"Isaac told me Carlos won't leave you alone. I know it could hurt since you cared about him so much" He replied
"Yea well I just want him to leave me alone now. I like Isaac and I wanna be with him so bad but he is so complicated. I mean he holds me like a boyfriend would and calls me princess or beautiful or shit like that but he doesn't tell me he likes me. I'm so confused" I said throwing my head into the pillow
"He probably doesn't know how you feel. He's probably scared to mess up the friendship" Alex said
"Yea well it's stressful" I said
"what's stressful" Isaac asked coming in
"Carlos coming to talk to me after i'm over him." I quickly lied
"Oh yea that" He said rolling his eyes
He laid down next to me and put his arm under me and held me
"Don't worry about that idiot. He's an asshole." He said kissing my head
"Ima go see if Jackie's home" Alex said walking out the room
I went downstairs and Isaac went to watch tv with Cole and Danny and I went into the kitchen to do my paper.
"Ah there you are" Katherine said
"Hey Jackie" I said
"How was your day?" Katherine asked
"It was okay. I met some nice people that were Novas friends." she replied
"Oh good" Katherine said
"Oh I brought this. Nova Skylar got you one too since you came home to do your homework." Jackie said
"Oh thank you. I'm gonna hide that in the freezer. Don't tell anyone it's there" Katherine said and handed me mine
I grabbed a spoon and opened it. It was sherbet. I grabbed a spoonful and ate it then grabbed another and went to give some to Isaac. I walked over and put the spoon up trying not to block Lee
"You got sherbet?" Isaac asked
"Sky got me some" I said
He took the spoon and ate the sherbet off of it then pulled me onto his lap
"You know you guys would make a really cute couple" Jackie said
I got up and walked away from the sofa
"I'm gonna go help set the table" I said

"I think ima head home" I said
"Are you sure? You're welcome to stay over again" Katherine said
"No it's okay. I don't wanna bombard you guys" I said
"Not at all. We love having you here" She said
The boys sat down and grabbed their food and started eating
"You sure you don't want to stay for dinner?" George asked
"No i'm okay. I think i'll just stop and get something on the way home" I said
"Let us know if you need anything" Katherine said
"I'll walk you out" Isaac said
We walked out and headed to my car
"You always stay for dinner" Isaac said
"I really need to work on my paper for english. I could pick you up in the morning if you don't want to ride in the packed car." I said leaning on the car
"Is everything okay between us?" He said
"Of course" I said
He opened the car door for me and I kissed his cheek then got in
"Text me when you get home" He said
"I will" I said and drove off
