Chapter 17

Lately i've distanced myself from everyone. Mom started cleaning out dads boxes and actually getting rid of stuff. Her boyfriend is moving in next month and i've been really depressed. Isaac and me have been getting into arguments and i've shut him out. I don't know what's going on with me but I haven't left my room. In school when I actually go I stay to myself. I rewatched all of my dads videos it's all changing and it seems like mom is forgetting him. She doesn't even wear her ring anymore and it hurts so bad.

"Hey do you think you could come over later" I spoke into the phone
"I actually can't. I'm not feeling that good" Isaac replied
"Oh" I said sadly
"yea maybe another time. I'll talk to you later I have to go" He said then hung up
I heard a knock on my door
"Come in" I said
Isa opened the door and sat on my bed.
"He's not coming is he" Isa asked
"No he said he's not feeling good" I smiled sadly
"Maybe he's trying to give you space" Isa replied
"I don't know but I know I shouldn't have pushed him away like that" I said
"Nova you were hurting. Everything around you is changing. You're mom is changing your life is changing and so is your family. You needed to adjust your mindset to accept everything. He's your boyfriend and should understand that. You told him you needed space and time to process everything. He should've gotten that" Isa hugged me
"I'm losing him Isa. It's my fault" I cried
"No it's not. You shouldn't have to put your feelings aside for anybody and if he couldn't handle it he doesn't need to be with you" Isa said

"Come on please" Isa begged
"I don't know Isa a party seems like a lot right now" I replied
"Please Nov just this one night and i'll stop bothering you" Isa nagged
"fine i'll go ask Ismael if he's going and if he is ill go too" I budged
"Yay okay" She smiled
I walked downstairs and saw Ismael sitting with his friend Jayden. I ruffed Jayden's hair and sat down on the couch
"Hey are you going to the party later?" I asked Ismael
"Yea but i'm DD cause I told Isa i'd take her" He smiled
"Are you planning on going" Jayden asked
"I'm debating on that right now" I replied
"Come. If you wanna leave early i'll bring you home" Jayden smiled
"Thanks Jay" I smiled back
"So you'll come?" Ismael asked
"Yea I guess i'll go" I smiled
"Yes!" I heard Isa yell
"Cool i'll meet you guys over there and Nova if you wanna leave early i'm your ride" Jayden smiled and walked out
I went upstairs and took a shower and got ready and Isa did my makeup.

When we got there I got a text from my group chat with Kiley, Jackie and Skylar telling me not to come. It was too late I was already here. I looked around for my friends and saw them by the beer pong. I noticed Grace playing beer pong with.... ISAAC! I kept looking as they scored and then Isaac picked up Grace and spun her. She looked into his eyes and then kissed him. What the actual fuck?! I walked over there looking at both of them as Isaac stared at me in shock.
"What the hell?! You're sick huh?!" I yelled
"Nova wait it's not what it looks like" Isaac tried explaining
"You know what it looks like. It looks like my boyfriend lied to me about being sick then came here to cheat on me!" I yelled
I started crying and ran off into the woods. I stopped once I didn't hear the music anymore. I noticed Isaac running after me
"Nova please let me explain! She kissed me I had no idea she was going to!" Isaac tried holding my hand
I looked at his neck and noticed he wasn't wearing his pearl necklace. He got it from me and never took it off so why did he take it off now? Did he stop wanting me?
"Your necklace" I said softly
"Huh" He said confused
"You took of your necklace isaac" I said louder
"Oh um it didn't match my fit" He scratched his neck
He's lying he wears it no matter what he's wearing. He lied right in my face
"You know what Isaac your right. We shouldn't wear anything not matching our fits" I said taking off the necklace he gave me and shoving it into his chest
"Wait no put it back on" he frowned
"You know what Isaac. Whatever we're doing it's stupid. We keep pretending everything is okay and it's not. I couldn't even talk to you about the shit happening and when I try to you lie for a stupid party and kiss the first bitch who gives you attention" I scoffed
"You haven't been there! How can I be with you and you shut me out!" He yelled
"I couldn't fucking talk to you! I can't tell you what was wrong cause I was still figuring it out myself! You couldn't fucking me there for me and be patient that's fine but whatever this is..!" I yelled back
"Wait no Nova. We could work this out" He begged
"It's over Isaac. Have fun with Grace" I said trying to walk away
He pulled me back and I looked at him before Jayden came and walked up
"Nova are you okay?" He asked
"No" I said shoving past Isaac "Can we get a drink?"
"Yea of course" Jayden said holding out his hand

After a hour Isaac got flirty with Grace to get on my nerves but two could play at his game and I would win
"Jay?" I asked
"Yes i'll help you make him jealous. Just follow my lead" Jayden said
He looked at the person who was playing the music and he played the song

He grabbed my hand and started dancing with me. Our bodies were so close together and I saw Isaac get pissed. When the song finished Jayden pulled me closer to him as he held my back
"Can I kiss you?" He asked
I nodded my head and he tilted me down kissing me. I looked at Isaac who stormed off. Then Cole and Alex fought and everything went to shit quickly. Erin found out about Olivia and Cole. Jayden took me home and we sat on the front porch
"Look I didn't kiss you just cause Isaac was looking" Jayden looked at me
"Jay... I never knew" I replied
"Im leaving town in 4 months. I was hoping maybe we could be together until I leave" He looked at me hopeful
"I think we could work up to it so sure" I smiled softly
He leaned in and kissed me softly
"Where did you learn to dance like that?" I asked
"I was in my sisters quince last year" He replied
"You dance really good" I said
"I'm good at a lot of things and I hope I could show you them" He smiled
"maybe" I replied
We spent the rest of the night talking. We already knew eachother but it felt like I was getting to know someone completely different. Jays always been someone who never talked to anyone, he was closed off and secretive but he opened up to me.
