Chapter 31

A couple of days passed today was Nathan's birthday. I was in a tattoo chair with Isa next to me. The tattoo artist just finished
"Since it's a smaller tattoo it's not gonna leak. Do you still want me to put the second skin on it?" He asked
"No it's okay. It hurts like a bitch coming off" I laughed
"Okay then you're all set let's head to the front to get you checked out" He smiled
"Luis you always do amazing" I smiled
We went up to the front and I payed
"I'm tipping you $50" I smiled
"Nova you're my family friend i'm not gonna make you tip me" He said
"We had this argument earlier when you didn't want me paying. I'm giving you money for your work friend or not. The tip is for the amazing job you did" I said
"Nova please" He begged
"Nope you take it" I handed him the $150 and walked out before he could deny it

Me and Isa went to the Walter's house. I hadn't talked to Isaac in 3 days but today i'm gonna act like everything is perfect. He texted me and asked if I was coming and I said yes and acted normal. We got to the walter's and Isa looked at me
"Are you sure you'll be okay" She asked
"I'm gonna act okay. Being okay is something completely different but you know what I have Jj and i'm gonna be fine. Isaac is just some guy I dated and now me and him are only gonna be friends. No flirting no sleeping in the same bed nothing" I smiled
"Good girl" Isa smiled
"This is gonna be fun" I said sarcastically
"You got this prima and if you wanna leave we will" She smiled
"Let's get this party over with" I said
I got out the car and we knocked on the door. Sadly Isaac was the one who opened it. He smiled at me widely pulling me in for a hug and I winced in pain
"Isaac my arm" I said
He pulled away and looked confused
"I got a new tattoo" I said
"Shit sorry. It looks really good" he said
"Thanks" I said
"Can we talk?" He asked
"Where's the birthday boy?" Isa said
"He's in the kitchen" Isaac replied
"Thanks" I smiled walking past
We walked into the kitchen and Nathan looked at us smiling. I handed him his present and he looked at me sadly
"I said no presents" he said
"I know but I don't listen" I smiled
"My beautiful bestie!" Lee screamed
He came over and hugged me
"Oh my god my perfect girlfriend" he said after he hugged me
He kissed Isa and picked her up and Alex came over and hugged me
"Mom should be in the back" Alex said
"Thank you love" I said walking out
I walked out and saw Katherine setting up
"Need any help?" I asked
"Nov! Hey honey" She hugged me
"Hi Katherine" I smiled
"I like your tattoo when did you get it?" She asked
"Before I came here" I laughed
"It's beautiful" She smiled
"It looks amazing" Cole said walking up
"Hey Cole" I smiled
"Hey beautiful" he hugged me
"Cole can you go make sure the horses are fed" Katherine asked
"Yes ma'am" He said and walked off
"He's so much nicer when your around" Katherine said
"He's going through a lot. I wanna be there to help him through it cause I know he doesn't like worrying you or George with it" I said
"I wish he'd talk to us" She sighed
"I know and maybe one day he will but right now I think he just needs time and someone to pull him in the right direction" I smiled
"Thank you for being there for the boys. You were a blessing that came to our family. I never knew how much the boys needed someone like you until you were here" She smiled
"Thank you for having amazing kids. Well Lee is a little bit of a jerk but I love him" I laughed as he walked up
"Hey! I didn't do anything!" he laughed
He came over and put his arm over my shoulder and kissed my cheek
"Isa is looking for you. She's in Jackie's room" He said
"I'll be up in a bit" I smiled
"Okayyy" He said smiling
"There's something about how he acts with you that I can't get over" She smiled
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Lee is not a nice person most of the time. He's very blunt and territorial. He is definitely not a people person but with you he's bubbly and a sweetheart. He'd do anything to protect you not in a dating way but like he was raised with you"
"Yea he's the perfect best friend" I smile
"I'm glad I did something right. When his mom left he was a mess and ever since then him and Isaac are scared of letting people in" she said sadly
"She missed out on 2 amazing kids. Me and Isaac may have a rocky relationship but he's an amazing person" I smiled
"Yes she did but that's what i'm here for" Katherine said
"They don't need her when they have a mom as amazing as you" I replied

It was dark outside and Katherine and George had went to bed. Me, Nathan, Kiley, Isa, Grace, Isaac, Lee, Alex, Cole, Danny and Jackie were outside the house. Cole and me were kinda in the same position. We had to sit and watch the person we love be with someone else but both of us decided we wouldn't act out and ruin Nathan's birthday. I smoked the blunt and passed it to Isa. Grace looked disgusted
"I don't know how you could smoke that" she gagged
"Isaac smokes too y'know" Lee said
"You do?" She asked
"Yea mostly with Lee and Nov" he replied
"So you got him to smoke?" She asked me in a angry tone
"No" I started talking
"I did it way before she came" isaac said
"Don't blame Nov" Lee said angrily
"Yea seriously" Isa said
"She didn't do shit" Cole said
"Why'd you blame her" Danny added
"Assuming much" Nathan said
"Right so stop" Alex said
"It's okay guys I don't mind" I laughed
She rolled her eyes at me
"Nathan why don't you open Novas gift" Jackie said breaking our glares
"Yea sure" Nathan smiled
I handed him the box and he started opening it and saw a shoe box
"Nova you didn't" He smiled
He continued opening it and saw the shoes he's been wanting for months now
"I seriously love you" He yelled
He came over and hugged me tightly
"Isaac you lost a perfect girl" cole said very much high
"Well he has me now" Grace replied mad
"Novas better" Lee smiled
Grace looked at Isaac waiting for him to disagree but Jackie spoke first
"I love your tattoo Nov" Jackie said
"Yea it's so pretty" Kiley added
"Tattoos are tacky" Grace said
"I love it. I want one too" Isaac smiled
"Bad influence much" Grace said softly
It got cold and I rubbed my arms
"I have my zip up you could borrow in my room Nova if you want" Isaac said
"where is it?" I asked
"It should be on my chair if not it's in my drawer" he said
I got up and saw Grace staring daggers into my head. I went to the house quietly. I went into the Garcias room and looked on Isaac's chair. I didn't see the sweater so I looked in his top drawer. I found a piece of paper folded up and opened it. It was the english assignment. It's where our relationship began when everything was perfect. I began reading it

"Nov you've been up here for 20 minutes are you okay?" Lee asked
I was sitting down crying
"Nov what's wrong?" He asked hugging me
"It's the letter he wrote for me" I said
"Nov" he said pulling me closer
"I can't forget him Lee. I love him" I said
Lee got up and went to Isaac's nightstand. I looked at him confused as he pulled out a book and handed me it
"What is this?" I asked
"Isaac's journal" Lee said
"I can't read this" I replied
"Nov read it" Lee said
I opened the book and Lee closed it
"When you're alone" Lee said
I nodded and went outside to say my goodbyes. Isaac looked at me sadly
"You're leaving?" He asked
"yea i'm feeling sick" I said
"Is it your blood sugar?" He asked scared
"I'm okay I just need to rest" I smiled
He got up and I hugged everyone besides Grace who scoffed at me
"I'll walk you and Isa to the car" He said
Lee said bye to us and kissed Isa and we walked to the car. Grace was pissed
"Hey get her home safe and let me know when you get in please" Isaac said
"I'll text you" Isa replied
He gave Isa a quick hug and opened my door for me and smiled softly
"Feel better" He smiled
He grabbed me and hugged me tightly
