Swap simps, you're up! And if you're keeping track, everyone's gotten a bonus now (canon or non) other than Dream (he only gets a whole book, poor guy), so that means something special is following this, hehe <3

(Y/n) tried to keep the tears at bay by blinking rapidly. All of the good hanging out with Outer did was nullified, and she didn't want to think about Dream right now, so she was glad to see Swap busying himself in the kitchen as he made food.

"Hi, human!" He put on a bright smile for her, though she could see concern in his baby blue eyelights. "Are you alright?" She thought about asking if he heard her and Dream, but based on the tension in his bones, she already knew the answer. Hearing 'human' come from his teeth now would've stung if there was ever a negative connotation about using it like when Dream did—as he knew she didn't like it, it stung when he did, but Swap only ever called her that in a positive light and thus she barely even noticed.

"I'm fine," (Y/n) mumbled, the lie ground out between clenched teeth.

Swap's gaze turned more sympathetic but he didn't comment on it. "I have almost finished my magnificent tacos! Would you like some?"

"Sure." She leaned against the kitchen counter to watch him, her thoughts swirling as her stare went through the tacos. He worriedly glanced her way but kept his mouth shut, his gaze almost nervous as he tried to think of something to say to break the silence.

"I learned how to dance with your magical device!" She glanced up at him as he smiled brightly. "Your small rectangular device, the one with the moving pictures on it."

"My phone?" She pulled her phone from her pocket to show him, and he nodded energetically.

"I would like to show you what I have learned." His radiant smile warmed her soul, and just like Outer, being in his presence helped her feel better. But unlike Outer's aura of calm that made her feel relaxed enough to sleep, Swap's aura hyped her up to take on her problems and push through. It gave her energy, so with a small smile his way, she pulled up Dance's hip-hop playlist on her phone. The first song had a fast tempo and pushed her to dance just like it had years ago, and Swap's star eyelights brightened as he grabbed her hand to sweep her off her feet and into his arms.

(Y/n) let him lead her, focusing on him and only him. His enthusiasm as he spun her in his arms allowed her to ignore what just happened with Dream and move on. If Dream wouldn't have her, then she had the others. They'd stayed respectful of what they deemed to be the King's, but since she was officially not his, she decided to throw caution to the wind. Maybe her heart wasn't ready to move on, not when she still loved that stubborn Guardian, but she was damn well going to try.

Swap twirled her in place, tapping his foot to the beat, and when he got the rhythm of the song down, he spun her so her back was to his chest and crossed her arms in front of her, holding her hands next to her hips. He stepped side to side to the tempo, throwing some swing into his moves like he'd accidentally clicked on a swing dance tutorial at one point, and she swayed with him, letting him lead her through the steps. It was clear he understood more about rhythm after watching YouTube, and though he still didn't fully understand how the song and dance of human music went—typically orchestrated with 2 different verses, a chorus, and a bridge if it was structured like a pop song—he was able to pick up the patterns of the instruments' notes and move his body in time.

Dancing with him wasn't quite the same as with Dance but it had its own uniquely Swap flair that pushed (Y/n) into moving in time with him, like they were on the same frequency, and after showing her the steps of a new move, she copied him fluidly. He grinned wide, kicking one foot out to one side then bouncing back and kicking the other foot to the other side, and she copied him like they could read each other's minds. Soon enough they were moving in tandem, and he released one hand to spin her out then pull her back in so she twirled back into his arms, and he picked her up by the waist to toss into the air, making her yelp with surprise. She landed on his shoulders in a seated position, the back of his head between her legs, and he grabbed her hands to keep her in place as he practiced some fancy footwork that made her laugh as she cheered him on.
