BONUS - SUNDAY

Hello my children, welcome once more to my week of spicy bonuses [BONUS - MONDAY/TUESDAY/etc]! If you're unfamiliar with this, you'll get an introduction to the week with this chapter, and fair warning: this intro is suggestive, the rest of the week is smut. These are completely optional since they're bonuses for the people that like spice, and while I take on a more canon vibe for this round of bonuses, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ THEM & THEY HAVE NO ACTUAL BEARING ON THE PLOT. Something in the air changed. (Y/n) wasn't sure how she knew that—maybe it was the way the demons were looking at her, or how fervently Dream avoided her while simultaneously making sure the others did too, or maybe something about this time of year triggered some type of memory in the recesses of her mind about how Dance acted around this time and Dad keeping the two of them separated once they started getting cozy. But regardless of how she knew, she wanted answers, because no matter how much mental prodding, she couldn't produce a response from Dream's thoughts.

So she went looking for him, letting out an annoyed huff when she walked in on Dream talking with Error about their plan as the other demons stood restlessly around the table. They all appeared distracted and frazzled, and as soon as she stepped into the room, all eyes were solely on her. She stopped, unsure what emotions she felt stirring in her gut but trying to ignore it as she met Dream's golden eyelights.

"(Y/n), I thought I asked you to stay in your room." Dream stood tall, his hands behind his back as he looked down at her carefully. His protectiveness reminded her of Dad around this time of year, but for the life of her she'd never been able to get an answer out of her old man as to what it stemmed from.

"I want to know what's going on." (Y/n) looked at all the demons—who pointedly looked away, like they were forcing their heads to turn to save face. She met Dream's gaze and tapped the side of her head. "You refuse to answer me."

"There is something interrupting our connection this week, it seems, as I cannot hear you." He let out a heavy sigh. "But trust no harm will come to you during this time from Waylon's demons."

"Why?"

"How does she not know?" Slash asked not so quietly, sharing looks with Swap and Ink.

"Why would she need to know?" Error countered, his teeth bared in a snarl. He stood with his arms crossed, his aggression pointed at the easiest target like a fire pit of coals just waiting to catch the nearest object ablaze.

"There is no need to worry her," Swap added, nodding his head at Error's words. "She'll be safe."

"I feel like that's something she should definitely know," Outer muttered quietly, avoiding everyone's gaze as he tugged at the neck of his sweater.

"I think she hears us talking about her," Ink said loudly, no shame at all on his face as (Y/n) met each of the demons' gazes before finally landing on Dream.

"Can we stop with the secrets?" she begged, fed up with their every effort to evade the topic.

Dream stayed silent as everyone else waited for their King to make his decision, then he slowly nodded. "I suppose it is not fair to keep you in the dark on such a matter. Error, would you please give me access to the vault?" Error created a glitchy portal to the vault, through which Dream searched for a moment before snatching a book off the shelf that he'd seen earlier when he was helping (Y/n) search for the spell that notified her whenever a demon teleported within a set barrier perimeter. He swept some of Error's papers to the side so he could place it down on the kitchen table, and (Y/n) rounded it to stand beside him as he flipped through it. Dream shifted away from her as he ran his finger down the page, reading through it quickly, and the other demons shifted closer as if trying to read the book.
